1/31/2024 - Delund Likes this wine: 91 pointsPopped and poured, cellar temperature. Took about a half-hour in the glass to start to show itself, but I didn't mind as the nose was captivating. Deep garnet color. Lovely, complex aromatic nose of plum, boysenberry, eucalyptus, mint, smokey mocha and a bit of barnyard funk that gradually moved towards pine forest floor. I would love to find a candle that smelled like this when lit. Silky round tannins. Well-integrated oak and alcohol at this point. Big black fruits on the palate. Tart black and red fruit notes helped offset the fading acidity. Allspice and pleasant bitter chocolate notes. Grippy finish that lingered and lingered. |

Great nose of dark, roasted plum and black cherry with sweet pipe tobacco, roasted tomato, cedar cigar box, some green/herbal notes and a touch of creme de cassis. Similar flavors on the palate with a nice mix of savory flavors and dark, ripe fruit. Medium+ acidity. Medium tannins. Smooth finish. Drinking great. |

10/11/2022 - bayareadodgerfan Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis wine is ready to drink - probably not improving much more. Still pretty nice glass of wine. Decanted 45 min (should have been longer - I forgot). Medium garnet color, med+ aroma intensity with both fresh and dried black cherry, black plum and blackberry notes as well as some mint. Secondary notes of cedar and toast from oak. Lots of tertiary aromas - forest floor, leather and dried black fruit. On the palate, med + flavor intensity with similar flavors to the aromas on the nose Med/Med+ acid, high alcohol, med+ tannin - but super plush and well integrated. Medium+ finish of dark fruit and tertiary flavors. It’s a nice wine - a little surprised it’s still got this much freshness - but time to drink up |

7/31/2022 - Rich S Likes this wine: 92 pointsDecanted for sediment. Nose of cassis, black cherry, a bit of toasty oak, dark chocolate and menthol. Similar flavors on the palate with a good amount of black fruit still present, although slightly dried, and a bit of charred wood to go along with some nice herbal, minty notes. Medium acid, medium to medium+ tannin and good length on the finish. Still plenty of life in this wine but I would likely drink over the next few years while the fruit is still there, especially since the acidity is not. |

7/14/2022 - AllRed wrote: 89 pointsDouble decanted off its sediment and poured with dinner following a quick round of nine. By the time we had our entrees and this bottle, it had been perhaps three & a half hours since the cork had been pulled. The lovely floral/violet notes that were evident when the cork was pulled have disappeared, now showing leather, tobacco and black fruit. Soft, somewhat rustic tannin and flavors of plum and leather. |

3/2/2022 - AllRed wrote: 93 pointsDouble decanted off its sediment and poured a little over an hour later. A great showing. The bouquet features violet, currants, rose and plum. Tannins are nicely resolved at this stage, with an abundance of dark fruit taking center stage on the palate. Hints of spice in the lingering finish. We have two remaining which I will plan to open within the next year, maybe two. |

Balanced and at once mature and fresh. Pleasant acid kick on the long finish. At peak and the best Match experience I’ve had yet. |

4/24/2021 - AllRed wrote: 93 points4th Saturday Group (M&R's): Blind. Perfumey and elegant, with currant and licorice notes as well. Black fruit on the palate; balanced wit a lingering finish. This is just a really nice wine with some tannin to shed yet, but the fruit is nice and there's plenty of it. |
