4/25/2024 - ID Does not like this wine: NRNot a good wine. Years ago it was super tannic, which made me think it needed to age. Now age has exposed its weakness. Alcoholic and flat. A lesson to be learned: Very tannic wines do not necessarily benefit from losing their tannins with time. |

2/3/2024 - ID Likes this wine: NRA week ago I had my first bottle as part of a lineup of seven Chardonnays. The memory lingered, and last night I decided to open a second bottle. It really is a great wine. Last night we had this after tasting a grand cru Chablis, and someone said it was like going from 2D to 3D. We also had a 2014 Peay Estate Chardonnay, which was nice but, fwiw, not in the same league as this horseshoe Chardonnay. I am very impressed. |

1/27/2024 - ID Likes this wine: NRBoth in the nose and on the palate, a very pronounced bitter element. I thought that made it interesting, but others were quick to reject it because of that. |

1/27/2024 - ID Likes this wine: NRVery crisp. Very firm acidic spine. And very light color. On day one, it was kind of too acidic for me. Revisited 48 hours later: It’s color had darkened a bit and the body had put on weight and richness while maintaining the firm spine. |

2015 Paul Pillot Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois BlancChardonnay more |
1/27/2024 - ID Likes this wine: NRThe nose is an immediate “wow.” The palate is springy like a ‘16 Chevalier Blanc I recently had. Excellent wine. My favorite in a line-up of seven Chardonnays. |

2019 Domaine Robert-Denogent Pouilly-Fuissé ClimatChardonnay more |
1/27/2024 - ID Likes this wine: NRThe most complex of seven Chardonnays tasted blind, among which was a 2018 corton-charlemagne and a 2013 Fevre Vaudésir. The only one of the seven that I liked more than this was a 2015 1er cru from Saint-Aubin by Paul Pillot. |

12/29/2023 - ID Does not like this wine: NRHideous. Concentrated grape juice spiked with a garish, burn-your-nose amount of alcohol. Nasty and literally painful. |

9/28/2023 - ID Likes this wine: NRTannins have receded from the overpowering level they once were at, but they’re still present. Alcohol is 14.1%, and it’s not hidden. Nose is okay. Palate has some red berries. Pretty good. Paired well with pork loin. |

8/20/2023 - ID Likes this wine: NRLast bottle was by far the best. Don’t know if it was the extra bottle age or if it was the relatively warm temperature at which we drank this. Drank with a richness that was lacking in prior bottles. |

7/14/2023 - ID Likes this wine: NRColor is on the darker side for a white wine. Rich, big mouthfeel. Alcohol 13%. Not much acid. Reminds me of a smaragd Riesling from Austria. |
