2/10/2007 - depeupleur wrote: 93 pointsExcellent wine, lots of red fruit, cherry on the nose, great fruit on the palate as well, well balanced structured with strong but silky tannins, feeling still a bit young. Could possibly use a few more years of cellaring. Would buy again. |

1/25/2007 - depeupleur wrote: 88 pointsDay 1: No decanting, poured glass straight from bottle and sniffed wonderful notes of flowers, violet. This was short lasted and soon got sulfate smells of burnt matchstick that although not overpowering, did dominate the first two glasses. Dark Ruby Red with firm but gentle tannins which means it could probably age some more, but im not sure if it will improve because at this point is seems a bit inexpressive and tight. I will write my impressions from the decanted second half tomorrow, i hope it opens up as it did for some other tasters here. |

1/15/2007 - depeupleur wrote: 90 pointsHighly concentrated and syrupy, great nose of berries and oak. I will very probably buy more. I made the mistake to leave the bottle open but recorked for over a month and tried consuming it during that time. I assumed that becasue of the alcohol concentration the wine would not oxidize but it did. At one month the port was still drinkable but not nearly as pleasant as it was upon opening. Must be drunk within the first few days, same day is even better. |

12/25/2006 - depeupleur wrote: 93 pointsDrank for Xmas with family. Impressive fruit, full bodied, with concentrated berries aromas. More approachable than the Don Melchor at this point. Excellent wine, perhaps the best Chilean wine out there, if you must try a wine from Chile try this one. |

1/19/2007 - depeupleur wrote: 90 pointsVery interesting wine, extremely pungent upon opening, needs at the very least 2 hours of aeration. Big, bold and rustic, highly tanic, went well with some Catalan fuet sausage. I would think its not for everybody but i liked it a lot, its very different from what is considered mainstream currently. |

1/19/2007 - depeupleur wrote: 85 pointsNot bad for an everyday table wine. Easy to drink, medium body, medium acidity, austere nose of tropical fruit (grandas, naranjilla, mango?) with hints of citrus and flowers. Should be approachable to people not used to the bigger bolder reds of the region. |
