Beautiful and still youthful wine with lush fruits, a beautiful balance between sweetness and acidity and a great length. Great and still very vital wine. A beauty!

Bingo! This was superb! I was worried it might be old but it was still fresh. Wonderful floral notes, accompanied by honeysuckle and a variety of citrus fruits. There is also white peach, honey and treacle on the palate. It is packed full of wonderful creamy vanilla notes from the oak. Amazing structure, fruit dominated but lovely acidity and oak to provide a mouth full of opulent pleasure. Very long and complex. Drink now to avoid tertiary caramel notes.

This is a truly wonderful wine - one of the best I have ever had. Golden, rich, unctuous. Hints of caramel along with the dried apricot, candied fruit zest and yellow peach syrup - yum! This is balanced on the edge between youthful extravagance and old age, with some tertiary notes entering the stage. Long and complex, so many layers of flavour. Drink now while it still has the beauty of youth.

At The Fulton Jean-George’s NYC. This was ready to shine out the bottle, an apricoty bouquet and butterscotch/buckwheat honey palate, played off the shellfish/octopus dishes extremely well. Can probably hold for a few years but this is at a prime drinking window now.

Deep amber-honey colored Caramel and stewed stone fruit. Round, a little flat (on its decline for sure). No acidity. Stone fruit, but all muted at this point. Decanted for several hours. My last bottle was definitely better. One left. Hopefully it held up better than this one. Great wines otherwise.

MAJOR MISTAKE in not decanting this wine. First two glasses were funky, and somewhat closed. Finally opened up to a plethora of greatness. I never decant my vintage white wines enough. Need to make a point of decanting these older gems. Cheers!

Fresh yellow appearance, showing no signs of ageing, which is a relief as the Beaucastel Rousanne really does not last this long. Nose of floral honeysuckle. Rich and full bodied on the palate, sweet finish of lemon and honey - delicious. Stone fruits: peach and apricot, long finish. Acidity only medium, though could be cloaked by the weight of fruit. slight oak tannin grip in the background. This will continue to evolve for some time years yet, no need to rush to drink.

On the nose aromas of honey, raisin, syrup, and mango On the palate, a full-bodied dry wine with high alcohol and medium acidity. Interesting wine but the alcohol dominates just a bit too much for my taste making the medium-long aftertaste slightly bitter. Still a lot of structure so this wine can age further. This wine would go well with heavy, creamy food.

Nuts, yeast, brioche, honeycomb, smoke, yellow and stone fruit. Developing. Dry, moderate acidity, high alcohol, full body, rich, generous, ample, ripe fruit, spice. Medium (+) length. Not too powerful but alcohol sticks out on the finish. Very good.

A private tasting (Rotterdam, NL): Tasted blind. Expressive nose of marzipan and roses, yellow fruit and some oak, buttery and spicy, rounded and full, mature but still fresh, low acidity, velvety, flavours have a hint of white tea, light but intense finish, peach, mango, very good length. Excellent.

Unctuous and rich, low acidity and seductive -- but best paired with the right food (here a hot smoked salmon and favas, yumm). No darkening in color at all (a Chevillon blanc next to it from the same year was much darker), fresh oily heady nose. Stones and taut white fruit.

Lovely wine. First bottle had some reduction but the second tasted nice after some air in the decanter. Still seems young, just about drinkable. Floral nose and notes on the finish with some butterscotch and a bit of burnt mineral. Again I'm not an expert on Rhone whites this was a pleasure to drink if seeming a bit young for now.

The most complex of the whites in our tasting. Nose showed ripe cantaloupe and honeydew melons w/ vanilla and almond undertones. Palate was round and medium to full bodied. Cantaloupe flesh and rind were present and balanced w/ a certain nuttiness. This wine still has acidity and structure. Very thought provoking.

A wine exhibiting a delicate yellow color with a slight greenish rim. Full throttled and expressive nose with pear, apple pie, honey, white flowers, a touch of white pepper, and note of sun baked white stones on the end. A full bodied white wine, with densely packed sweet white fruit flavor on the attack, where pears and sweet apples intermingle with a touch of orange rind and honey. A good dose of acidity on the mid-palate, and spicy mineral laden finish. Smooth texture, feminine flavors, well integrated, great purity of fruit, and nice long finish.

I can admire the wine making here but these Rhone whites are not ones for easy drinking. Marzipan, honey, rich, thick and tongue covering. Not as rich as previous bottles and this has impressive length without being too cloying. During the second glass my mind wandered off and was dreaming of a firm, crisp Chablis. Does anyone really drink these wines for pleasure?

Beaucastel charity dinner @ Tanjong beach club: Tight and backward. With more air it starts to show elegant note of beeswax, honeysuckle, pear and spices. Stunning precision and focus, well delineated with superb richness but with good underlying mineral and freshness to it. Complex mouth feel and oily texture but lifted by the healthy acidity and carry on to the long finish with saline mineral aftertaste. This is really beautiful and I did enjoy this a lot. I only can imagine how good would the Roussanne VV could be. 91-92+

90-91+ pts

This full-bodied white has improved a lot since last time I tasted it about half a year ago! Now all the pieces are gradually coming together. A very positive development! This wine will for sure continue to evolve positively during the next couple of years.
The wine looks Yellow gold colored. It smells like Apricot, Almond, and Honey. It tastes like Apricot, Mineral, Oak, Melon, Almond, and Honey. The body is Full. The wine is textured Oily. The wine finishes Medium.

Given the very high scores by Parker, I must say I was a little disappointed to this wine. The mouthfeel was heavy, the acidity was overpowered by a huge amount of apricot like sweet fruits. The whole package seemed to be a bit unbalanced at the moment. Naturally this wine is very young and will for sure improve. I will wait for a minimum of 2 years before opening the next bottle (and hope for the best).

– tasted a single glass non-blind over approx. 15 minutes – – 80% Roussanne, 15% Grenache Blanc, 5% others – – bottled opened the previous day –
NOSE: loads of fresh fruit and spicy coconut on this expressive and perfumy Nose; some oak is apparent, as well. TASTE: medium-full bodied; the Grenache Blanc seems to really stand-out, despite it’s minority share in the cepage: the crisp pear flavor does not speak of Roussanne to me, although the ample minerality certainly does; a bit warm in the belly, but I’d still call this outstanding. Gut: 92 - 94.
