In a pretty peak zone for a Beaujolias - nice secondary and tertiary elements blended in with primary cherry, although a touch over-tart, was quite pleasant and improved with air, for an overall much more intriguing experience than the average Beaujolias.

Must have closed over last year. Wide open now. Very suave, a bit of drying tannins for complexity. Some truffle, earth, smooth. Nice wafting nose, too.

Wow almost got this spot on - guessed it to be Bojo around 10 years old, and when pressed for the village I thought Morgon with the structure. Sour cherry notes that is typical of Gamay, some firm acidity on the mid-palate and a hint of alcohol burn on the finish. Developed a lot sweetness with air.

Nice color. Crystalline ruby. No bricking. Lively acidity on palate, salt, cherry pit, long finish. Very much comparable to a good village level Burg. Good for one glass now with food. But I think there is still underlying fruit to let this improve 1 -2 years more.

Dark ruby. Red fruits on nose and palate. Oak has been absorbed. Smooth, firm, full bodied, medium long finish. I will save a couple for full maturity in 3 - 5 years.

Still youthful ruby color with purple glints. Medium to full body, more like pinot noir than gamay. Drink now with full day decant or overnight to integrate acidity and reveal red summer fruits. Or cellar another 3-5 years.

Heavier and more tannic than expected. Darker as well. Some complexity, but less finesse than others from the region. Second day: seemed more like a new world wine here, more dark fruit and less approachable than before. Rebuy: no.

Medium-deep ruby, clear. Nose: dark berries (on the second day very ripe blueberries) on a slight wild note. Some sweetness. Palate: lively fruit on entry, somewhat pungent, then candied fruit, closes bitter. Smoother and better integrated than the Carquelin, although less complex, it is enjoyable already now.

91 pts

Dense color. Dense and intensely fragrant aromas, with syrah-like qualities. Roasted meat jus, flinty graphite minerality. It's full and mouth coating and rich with flavors of violets and blue and purple berry. Wet stone. Some savory herbs. Very interesting.

Color is deep, no longer crystalline. Sour cherry palate. Better aroma and palate with 30 minute decant. Short finish. Drink up, past prime.

Dark ruby in glass. Firm with lingering dark red cherry fruit, no oak. But finish hints at becoming jammy. Drink soon.

Deeper ruby red than most Beaujolais with aromas of dark berries. It was clean, rich lively berry flavors with some sweetness. Nice clean finish.

Deep ruby. Quite powerful nose, with cocoa, ripe black fruit, wood. On the palate, its ample texture ends in a persistent finish. Now - 2025.

Lots of tangy and tart cranberry. Snappy. Of all the '09 Beaujolais I have tasted, I recommend giving this one a couple of years of bottle age.
