As other tasters mention - this is drinking fine now in its early drinking window with softer and more mature notes of both dark and red fruits. It is still a powerful wine but it has a mineral spine to keep the balance.

Showing beautifully. Probably within its ideal drinking window. These Chevillons take awhile to come together but when they do…a really harmonious wine appears in the glass. Drink.

Outstanding bottle. Nose wasn’t as giving as I would like but the palate more than made up for it. Layers of dark cherry fruit, some damp earth, and enough tannic grip beneath the fruit to be convincing that this can go the distance. No harm drinking one now, in a great place, but if you like aged flavors, hold for another 5-10+.

This is just starting to unfurl - plenty of time left, but just fantastic right now firing on all cylinders. Brambly fruit with nice structure and a light mineral core.

Medium-dark garnet. Complex and masculine nose with ripe dark fruit intermixed with earthy notes, pine, licorice. The palate is dense, very NSG like with ripe tannins. Good finish.

Complex and deep aroma with balsamic strawberry, and hints of coffee. Delicate texture, rather intense palate with some warm notes, but also nice balancing acidity. Very good.

Earthy nose, spices, lovely. Good ripeness on the palate not very well defined. I am not a big fan of the 2009 Chevillons and this bottle confirms it. Lacks the precision of the cooler vintages.

Clearly super young, but quite approachable and pleasurable now. Very good concentration of velvety black and red cherry. Good earth and spice notes. More round than you might expect for a rugged NSG. Fun now. Should continue to evolve and gain nuance.

Great colour, still very youthful, this bottle feels as if the fruit is tightening up, earthy NSG finish a bit to the fore. I'll hold off the remaining bottles, hopefully will re-awaken as the beauty that I recall

Deep red color, bricking rim, opaque center. Nose is varietal Pinot, smoked or roasted meat, Asian spice, citrus and earth. It is complex and appealing. The palate offers the same smoky notes over a frame with good grip, along with Pinot fruit, minerality, hints of saline, orange peel, and bottle aged complexity. This wine is tasty and complex, but still shows some power and strength

Day one - nice nose but on the thin side and drinking thin. Day two a very good Burgundy, traditional style. If you're a US West coast pinot noir guy this might not be for you. I will decanter my next bottle for a few hours before drinking.

Light barnyard that's typical to the village wrapped in an over the top creme brûlée nose. Cutting acidity. Light and fine tannin. Easy early drinking wine. Still have a light terroir identifying rustic taste but not at all offensive. Subdued fruit, more black than red berries. Lovely. Early drinking window is a plus. Drink up.

Opened and poured, this wine has developed nicely and benefited from additional bottle age since its release. The bouquet shows maturing elements integrated with the youthful fruit giving the wine complexity and nuance. The color is a tarnished medium to dark ruby that is appropriate for the wines age. The medium bodied palate shows a wonderful combination of maturing elements and youthfulness. The wine gives a medium long, detailed finish. This wine has evolved since its release and is starting to reach it peak. Based on this showing it may improve with an additional year or two of bottle age.

Tried another bottle the next day alongside the Chaignots. A more focused and energetic bottle than last night with black cherry, dry earth, blood / metallic notes and notable vanilla. Stronger acid than the Chaignots but not as smooth on the finish at this point. Opened and let sit for one hour, consumed over the following two. 91+

Rounded dark fruits including black plum. Hints of smooth spice and earth, this never fully opened up even after two hours of air time. Has room to improve but destined for a soft edged and harmonious profile without highlights. A more versatile wine for food pairings than some of it's contemporaries

Opened and poured, this bottle gave another excellent showing. This wine has developed somewhat since its release with the youthful, vibrant fruit shedding some of its more primary characteristics. Otherwise this wine remains consistent with previous experiences.

Delicious young burg full of lovely ripe fruit but good underlying balance of acid/tannin. Look forward to future development. A consistent vigneron from year to year.

Shows the ripeness of the vintage, though there is nice structure lurking underneath that should offer a nice foil to the chubby fruit in a few year's time. Warm earth and spice frame the plum fruits in well enough, but I can't help but wish for a little more freshness and acidity here.

I thought this showed well considering the vintage. Dark profile with warm spice and some gamey characteristics. Full and rich dark red fruits with some fine grain tannins. Seems a bit weighty but not over the top. A bit clumsy and lacking freshness but has the stuffing for some sideways time.

Grilling with random wines (Coventry): Dark, brooding fruit, tar, pronounced stemmy greenness, floral. On the palate, cherry, more stemminess. Medium-bodied. Medium finish, but again with the green! Very well-balanced structurally. Perhaps it will all integrate with age, or perhaps this is exactly what people like here, but I found the green/earthy out of harmony with the cherry/floral.

Absurdly young. At points this feels like tasting a barrel sample. There's amazing intensity and richness to the fruit here, oaky and stemmy elements still that need to integrate, but it's quite compelling and I'd love to see what happens to this with a long time in the cellar. The richness, structure and balance suggest that this is one for the long haul.

Another impressive showing for this wine. Based on this showing, the wine should benefit from additional two to three years of bottle and drink well for many years after.

This bottle gives a similar impression to previous experiences with this wine; however, this bottle begins with a darker, earthier fruit profile. The previously tasted bottle started with spice and red fruits and transitioned with airing. This wine should benefit from an additional three to four years of bottle age.

Opened and poured, this wine gives a wonderful showing from start to finish. This starts with a mix a red fruit, spice, floral and subtle earth notes on the bouquet. Airing brings a darker fruit profile with more earthy notes. The color is a translucent medium ruby with an underlying purplish hue. The medium bodied palate shows focus, freshness and balance. There is an underlying sense of rich fruit that is balanced on the medium length finish by the tannins and acidity. Youthful and rather primary, this wine will benefit from additional bottle age.

This was consumed over two days. First day it already was accessible but on the second day it really beamed. Wonderful pinot perfume, intense, high-toned, crystal-clear. dark cherry, raspberry, violets, a hint of tar, really wonderfully complex on the nose. Same on the palate, but what impressed me here most was the balance. Everything is there and it all is balanced impeccably. It gives the wines an elegance that is not always to be found in NSG. Have tried at least five other Chevillon '09s and they are all fantastic. Will buy lots of these!
