Blind tasting lunch 2009 theme. Gorgeous nose and palate, white fruit mostly and some yellow fruit, acidity is still there, saline even, nice finesse and a persistant and delicious finish.

Pale gold. Rather closed nose; some honey, anis, white flowers. Massive, oily mid-palate concentration of orchard fruits, progressively supplanted by a lemony, even spicy (almost the "ma" of numb-peppers), mouth-coating finish, and a very light butterscotch final touch. At 13.5°, I did find the alcohol a tad strong; but then maybe such was 2009, and the achieved balance, however unusual, is impressive. The bottle I had was not in the least advanced, but I could not quite tell and would be curious to know where from here the wine is headed.

Perfect cork, no sign of seepage. Along with Charmes, my favorite BC meursault. This one was cellared since release but it is now starting to show notes of oxidation. Still nice but drink up now. 13% abv

Tasted just following Les Tessons from the same vintage and producer. Single piece cork, no seepage.
A slightly more refined and classical flavour profile than the Tessons. Slightly more oak and acidity were perceived this time around. Lots of lemon and a slightly floral finish on this occasion. Delicious and youthful

Deep golden colour. Starting to demonstrate signs of premature oxidisation. Honeyed ripe nose. Good ripe fruit but a bit flabby lacking mineral acidity. Still very drinkable but would consume now. Only one bottle left!!

Galoots Lunch (Double Zero Napoletano- Sandy Springs): Wow, really complex nose that was kind of hard to delineate into individual flavors but the butterscotch was classic Meursault, texture was really impressive with its strong tensile strength, fruit was a bit leaner for a ripe vintage but it had nobility in spades, young, great focus, should improve, give plenty of air if consuming now; 93+.

No formal notes as this was brought to a restaurant and consumed, but this definitely felt quite lacking compared to itself when I drank it two and a half years ago on release. Expressed little on the nose and while the palate and finished offered some initial richness, even that tended to fade for the hour it was consumed. Still very good and balanced on its feet for sure, but not the revelation it was before. Not sure what to do with my last two bottles.

Lovely from the get go. Nice citrus, honeysuckle notes. Complex. Beautiful balance on the palate with a lingering finish with just the right amout of cut. Wish I had more of this.

Still a baby, showing lots of barrel notes along with ripe citrus, red apple, and pear. The concentration is fantastic, balanced by lovely acidity that creates a superb framework for the ripe flavors to work in. I love how layered this bottle was, requiring me to pay attention to each sip. In time, I suspect the oak will integrate better, as it's the only thing that wasn't quite up to spec tonight. Still, this is gorgeous Burgundy.

The 2009 Domaine Buisson-Charles Meursaults at Scott Paul (Carlton, OR): As good as advertised; WOW! The finest young Meursault I've had. The aromas are light and subtle here as well, but there's plenty of intense richness buried beneath that come out on close inspection. The oak is noticeable, but comes across as a delicious sweet caramel aroma. Incredibly rich and soft on the palate, with more of the caramel flavors. The intensity is just awesome! Rich acid, but such opulence and character throughout, with penetrating depth. More up front oak at first on the finish, but after just 5 seconds the acid and minerals take over, and this goes into overdrive with its richness and lingers for some time. The intensity remains with me for minutes later and it feels like my head is going to pop in overload.

N: Massive, closed nose compared with other bottlings from the domaine. Very primary, yet full of promise. Oak is almost imperceptible. P: Restrained, unctuous, textured. Attack is pleasant, not acidic at all, yet massively flavorful, nervous, tense, lemony. The oak adds texture, almost no taste or tannin. Color is very pale, almost diluted. A brilliant wine destined to a bright future. Hold for about 10 years!

94-95 pts
