Decanted one hour. Medium bodied. Fantastic depth, emerging complexity. Raspberry, black tea, herbs and spices. This has a great sense of power and concentration but also delivers finesse and elegance. Terrific wine with years ahead.

Dujac really nailed this vintage, powerful and seductive … à point. More masculine and rather less elegant than previous vintages. Stunningly beautiful floral aromatics enhanced by ripe dark cherries, plums and strawberries, earthy tones with red meat, sandalwood and Asian spices. Less ripe and more delineated than other GC 09s. Lush texture, silky and chewy tannins, enduring rich finish. I wish I had more bottles of this CSD! 97v

Just starting to take on some earthy development. There's a core of intense cherry and plum fruit and some pine needle too. With air you get a touch of beef stock and soy and it is rich, powerful and contained. It has a silky feel against the gums and is expansive and long.

Showed for 5 hours before serving. Still an absolutely young baby, probably a bit too early to enjoy. On the nose, modest floral and dark cherries sensation, vanilla, sandalwood, and soil, on the palate, it was rich and quite polished, I think the oak has not fully integrated yet, a relatively powerful red burg, but largely balanced for 2009 vintage, this wine shows good ageing potential

Slow oxed for 5 hours before serving. Very reductive on the nose with vanilla, cinnamon roll, oak and candied fruit. Palate was very rich and intense with plenty of stuffing. While many 09 red burgundy can be very ripe, this bottle is not. Lots of potential. Give it at least 10 more years for the oak to integrate. It will be a blockbuster clos st denis when it is mature.

Dujac's Clos St. Denis is really lovely in 2009. A lovely ripe bouquet of wild berries, black cherry and subtle cinnamon, exotic spice and oak vanilin is followed by a beautifully layered, complete palate impression with a great core of fruit framed by fresh acidity. Everything seems very nicely proportioned here, and the wine is really very generous—verging on gourmand—despite its comparatively primary state.

A Few Meals in Burgundy; 6/30/2013-7/5/2013: Intense floral start with great cross-section of red fruit aromas and great spice. Strawberry and red cherry flavors, incredibly well textured and balanced. Very elegant. Approx 30 minutes in decanter before serving. No surprise, last taste was the best.

Nez qui pinotte, du fruit noir, mais avec du bois qui amène un coté pop corn, fumé. Bouche fraîche et tannique, travaillée, moderne. Longueur admirable, trop boisé a ce stade pour être agréable. Fort potentiel. 93+ pts

Quite a spicy nose with some dried flower and anise notes. Intense black cherry fruits in the mouth are creamy and round. It is very long with abundant, chewy tannins.

Domaine Dujac Visit to taste 2009 and 2008 (Morey St.-Denis): Barrel tasting at Domaine. A bit reductive to start, but expressive aromatics emerging with some coaxing. Red fruit throughout on nose and palate with subtle spice. Very lush textures. Moderate length and finish, but hard to accurately assess given that it started reductive. Normally I prefer Dujac CSD over CdlR, particularly when young, but perhaps not in 2009.

Ripe fruit and a lot of stemmy spice, but everything here in reasonable proportions to support a long development. 93-94+

Burgundy Friday--24 juin 2011 (Domaine Dujac with Diana): Vanilla up front. I love this. It is so feminine and pretty. This shouldn’t taste like great Chambolle, but… Amazing balance. All the fruits are floral.
