  • Pas accroché: manque de fruit, de pureté, d’éclat, un boisé présent, une aromatique (trop) tertiaire, un matière peu élégante …
    Peut-être une bouteille déficiente ? Pourtant pas de défaut evident à noter, sinon l’absence de qualités;
    Certains ont apprécié néanmoins!

  • An excellent old-vine village wine. Concentration above its pay grade. Good meaty, rich fruit is approachable with plenty of pleasure. At peak.

  • Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner with Musicians (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Small glass. Forward and fleshy black fruit with braised meat spices, all balanced and so tasty right now.

  • Delicious now and by no means finished, unlike my feeble stock which has evaporated...

  • A fairly deep colour; full, sturdy, slightly sweet, dark fruited (black cherry/damson), and now developing notes of mushroom and game. A fine example of a village wine, fully ready but with life ahead.

  • Meaty, lively, still a lot of fruit. In a great place right now

  • Medium garnet in colour. Medium (+) intensity flavours of ripe and dried red fruit (cherry, strawberry), spice (liquorice), floral (violet), oak (vanilla, smoke), spice, tertiary (forest floor, vegetal). The wine is developing. The palate is dry with high acidity, medium ripe tannins, medium alcohol, medium (+) body, quite rich and silky, medium (+) intensity flavours similar to the nose. The finish is long.
    Very good quality village burgundy, continuing to develop nicely, but with the concentration and structure to age further and develop greater tertiary characteristics. Personally, I think this is perfect now. I’m sorry this was my last bottle.

  • Has really not evolved since the last tasting note - which I guess is a good thing. This is drinking very well but definitely has a long life ahead of it. Much riper fruit than the 2008 tried at the same time.

    Very good quality village burgundy, starting to develop nicely, but with the concentration and structure to age further and develop greater tertiary characteristics. However, if you like the primary fruit profile, then you don't need to wait further to enjoy this wine.

  • Not a deep colour, but a dark hue. An excellent village wine, with strawberry and black cherry fruit, some spice, and good weight and length. Still a little tannin. Good now, but may improve over the next two or three years.

  • Quite a deep colour; quite full on the palate, with ripe, dark fruit flavours, good balance, a little tannin and considerable length. Ready, but will keep. An excellent village wine.

  • Dark as befits the vintage. Rich and oaky for a Pinot. Orange peel and resin aromas. Depth of fruit on the palate with poppies and licorice. Rather like a top notch Californian Pinot Noir. The oak is a bit heavy but there is plenty of flesh so I am waiting for another 5 years for my next one.

  • Garnet core with ruby edge; pretty nose, flavor reminded me of sucking on a nickel; palate is complex with cranberry, sour cherry , slight confected fruit, iron, sauvage, good Gevrey richness; mouthfilling and very satisfying. You definitely get the old vine complexity in this bottle compared to the regular village bottling.

  • Ripe, but not at all overripe. This has a really nice freshness for 2009 and it's really well balanced also. Smooth texture. Rich and deep for a villages and a true Gevrey in its aromatic profile. A long aftertaste. Great still on the second day, but didn't quite make it to the third.

  • (Drank at Vin Rouge in Durham) Outstanding Burgundy. Ruby Color. Dark fruit on the nose with small hint of spice and minerals. Silky texture on the palate. Ripe fruit initially with underlying mocha and hint of spice. Moderately long finish, Despite its youth drinking very well with nicely integrated tannins.

  • (at Villaret – Paris) My introduction to this Domain after many years of reading great press. This wine delivered the goods. Obviously young, but shows promise. The style is for richness yet balance – the year could be playing a part in this. Finishes strong. Nice, if a bit expensive. (91)
