Agree with previous notes. A little stewy. Possibly picked over ripe. Enjoyable enough with wild Mallard and a Chianti Classico reduction sauce. But not top level Bize.
Youthful, juicy and supple, no secondary nuances. Blind would guess it to be a reticent Californian vs. a notable, ripe year Burgundy 12 years out. Zero sediment. Clean dark cherry fruit without the spice of the '09 Bize S-l-B Aux Guette. Overall, disappointed though perhaps there's more for those who wait.

Decanted for an hour. Red fruits, dried leaves, herbs and mushroom notes. Medium bodied with mellow tannins after 9 years. Paired with duck breast. Could age a few more years.

Strawberry jam, watermelon candy, a hint of stemmy spice, and grace notes of iron and baking spices are fresh and intense on the nose. Aromatically this is expressive but youthful. The balance here is the strength of this wine, tannins, acid, and fruit so finely woven together that this slightly chunky and medium plus scaled wines slides across the palate with ease. The tannins are so supple and this offers up great if slightly chunky fruit with the juiciest of acidity. On the long finish the sense of origin emerges with a dusty not, subtle bitter edge, and finale of wet slatey rocks contrasting the tar, red cherry fruit. That slatey salinity on the finish just invites another sip, and the graceful balance keeps the gullet open for glass #2, and 3, and... An excellent food wine which is on its early plateau and while I don't anticipate significant improvement, I see no rush to drink these. Just short of excellent tonight if i want to be critical, but this sooo drinkable I love it. Better bring two bottle next time I try this again in about 2 years. I drank half the bottle while cooking dinner. Was great with risi bisi and roasted garlic grilled eggplant.

Rich, smooth, and expressive, for sure, on an almost New World scale. Not unbalanced but you'd also not laud this for its delicacy or nuance. Wouldn't rebuy, though I would/will be curious to see how this develops -- I don't see it going anywhere, really, but then I'm often wrong about these things!

Interesting wine, bold and rich by Burgundy standards. Earth and sous-bois driven, well balanced, solid finish. Let it breathe for a while if opening in the near term. 90-91.

primary red fruits, baking spices jump out of the glass. what a great expressive nose. Lots of acid and tannin, but it smooths out after about an hour in the glass. Don't touch the next one for 5 years. 92-93 potential 91 for now

Cinnamon and brown spices leap at you and are lively on the palate, supporting the red fruited, tobacco and funk-tinged flavors. A massive SLB but not lacking finesse for the vintage.

Excellent Savigny. Pretty aromatics, ripe, primary red fruit flavours. Quite full-bodied, but with enough structure to keep everything in balance and maintain a sense of typicity. Great value.

Dark garnet, clear ruby around the rim. The nose shows a pleasing mix of smoke, cherry & cinnamon. Medium bodied at first, but it picks up tons of weight as it takes on air. It begins bright with acidity and shows crunchy red berry fruit. As it takes on weight, it turns up the intensity and adds some truffle/clove earthiness and a darker more intense cherry component.
Tannic and structured, but quite balanced with brightness and spiciness. Enjoyed with homemade marinara & pasta and fresh Italian sausages. Glad to enjoy this before it shuts down.

Very, very nice first impression with deep and ripe, but fresh aromatics, great concentration and significant, but smooth tannins. One of the most positive 2009 burgs for my taste.

Slightly overripe with a roasted aspect to the dense fruit flavours. This comes across rather one-dimensional, extracted and heavy right now, dominated by primary fruit with a lingering tannic bitterness on the back end and not much acidity.

Savory and subdued upon opening but blossomed after 1 hour of decanting. Hints of elegance buried in layers of grassy notes.

Just ok and time isn’t on its side. Red fruit and a little too much acid. Very plain. Final bottle, drink up.
