  • Emidio Pepe Trebbiano d’Abruzzo are made in very traditional way, grapes are hand-picked and are crushed by foot. Even though it was fermented in cement tanks the wine is creamy and oxidative (no SO2 ages the wine faster I suppose). If this was served completely blind I would have guessed this was a Jura white. Oxidative sherry notes with banana fritters, creamy orchard fruits and textured lees. Smells like Jura, Château Chalon characteristics. (80/100)

  • Lovely floral, citrus, mineral profile. West stones, sage, balanced with acidity and tannin.

  • Deep gold colour with oxidative noses of butter cream, dried apricot, ginger, honey and roasted almond, which lead me to an old Hermitage blanc. The palate is very rich, full body with high acidity, sweet ripe fruits, nuts, waxy and a prolonged finish. A wine style that is very unique and hard to forget. Drink well now and I don't think further ageing is necessary.

  • Butter malt aromas. Light, restrained and old fashioned style. A bit short.

  • Light gold. Brown butter, some toasted nuts, some leesiness and a slight honeyed sweetness on nose. Fresh and clean on palate with lots of acid and a minerally finish. Glad I got to try this.

  • The definition of weird wild white. Savory flavors on nose and palate- more animal based than plant based- leather, tallow, bacon?. Nice tingly backbone of acidity cleanses the palate on the finish. Cool contemplative stuff that is still drinkable unlike some of the orange wine experiments happening in the South of Italy...
