We sipped several years ago at The Modern at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Folks, this is without question the best restaurant in a museum anywhere on the planet...at least of the many, many we have visited! A very nice Pinot Noir from Oregon. Great suggestion by the Sommelier and reasonably priced. Wine getting better everywhere we look!

A very nice medium body wine. Good nose followed by a complex blend of plum and cherry fruit. Excellent finish. This bottle was far better than others I have had from this vintage. Perhaps the wine is entering its best drinking window.

Decanted for about an hour. Beautiful floral aroma and a touch of spice on the mid-palate. Surprisingly complex, well built. Cherry, even a bit of pine, come through, along with dark wood. Nice finish. Would purchase again, in some quantity.

Opened for 4 hours. Fantastic nose of candied cherries and cola. Light-ish structure, delicate frame, bright acidity and fruit; but what's lacking is a sense of place...could be from Sonoma or Willamette, which is where the disappointment comes from the bottle. Good wine, just lacks defining character.

No notes taken, this was a fruit-driven encounter, satisfying and enjoyable, but not remarkable. However, kept in the bottle overnight the remainder showed much more smoke and nuance. So perhaps this benefits from a decant for a couple of hours to let it develop.

Bright and Fresh Pinot. On first pour there is a tremendous amount of bitter cherry and fresh ripe fruit. As the wine opens there are bits of tobacco and rich spice. High structure and tannins balance once the wine opens and concludes. There is no QPR here, as many other Oregon PN's are a much better value; however, this Pinot has high bone structure and big fruit which should be experienced.

From wine list. Core cherry over a floral bouquet of violets. Some spice and herb notes in the background, but the wine is about the fruit. Very nice, but still a bit tannic. Not quite ready, but good. Good Oregon Pinot.

The wine was decanted about two hours. This is a nice, clear, medium ruby red color. On the open and very sexy nose there are cherries, baking spices, minerals, fresh wild flowers, and a bit of earthiness. The wine is barely medium body with nice, ripe tannins and very good acidity. The wine is very elegant on the palate with nice, spicy, earthy red fruit, spice, and just a hint of an herbal note adding complexity. Very nice length on the finish which is again highlighted by the spicy, earthy fruit. This is very tasty today with some air but will reward some time in the cellar.

From the wine list at the Tewks. Dark ruby color; medium body. Straightforward Oregon pinot notes of cherry and spice, with earthy hints. Balanced fruit, acidity, and tannins. Good with food. This seems from a completely different planet than some of the earlier notes would suggest.

Restaurantkøb i Boston.

Soter? Really? What happened? This was an awful bottling. Bought this because I knew of Tony Soter's work in Carneros and I like Oregon PN very much. This was doubly disappointing. I am sitting here trying to come up with proper notes, but in reality this bottle was ruby grape juice with vodka, maybe some raspberry candy on the nose was about it. Majorly disappointed.

Medium ruby red with a elegant nose. Rose hips, flowers, mint, cherries, and red fruits generally combine plesantly. As a general impression, it seems a few years in the bottle will help. Not the rich extracted style, but lighter more feminine. A bit disorganized and a tad shorter than prefered on the finish that distracts from the overall.

A bit candied and simple on the nose. Palate is fairly simple as well. Wish this showed more at this price point. Clipped finish. Just received in shipping. Hopefully this was some level of bottle shock.

Youthful, spritely aromas with an underlying grapey-ness to fresh crushed berries and floral tones, nice spice accent but not overtly oak-y. Palate is juicy with a nice buoyancy to mid weight candied fruit flavors, soft finish lets you down easy but doesn't leave you hanging.

Decanted about 2 hours. A nice, clear, medium ruby red color. Earthy, cherries, herbal notes, baking spices, fresh cut flowers, and some minerality on the nice nose. Light to medium body with soft, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Subtle and nuanced on the palate. Very nice length on the flavorful and complex finish. I'd prefer if the herbal notes would integrate and they probably will with more cellar time. This is still very young and merits at least another year in the cellar.

A great example of Oregon Pinot. Smooth, flavors of strawberry, hints of vanilla, orange rind and a floral aroma. Complex, subtle, but with a lingering finish with enough tannin to realize that this is a wine with structure that could age.
