Raspberry rocks all day. Simple, ample fruit, fun. Turn your brain off and dont think about wine while drinking this. A nice companion, kind of like a Coldplay album.

On 1st night the fruit was a little too much in your face, more than I remembered. Still it avoided being jammy. Plenty of dark cherry with surprisingly a lot of white peach notes. Plum. Showed more balance on the 2nd day, more floral notes. Definitely southern and ripe fruit but still fresh.

Opened 1 hour ahead of time. Just opening up, with faint aromas of raspberry and spice. Lovely palate of huckleberry and cassis, tart lemon blueberry finish. Nicely balanced, lovely wine. Doesn't quite plumb the depths the way the 2008 does, but still an excellent wine.

Got much more floral than previous bottle with also some warm stone notes. Still pretty similar fruit profile with cherry and plum. Some darker fruit as well with blackberry. As always really enjoyable to drink.

Medium intensity ruby color in the glass. Baked blue fruit, white peach and baking spice on the nose. Similar notes on the palate with medium tea-like tannins and medium high to high acidity. Medium length finish. Nice with pizza.

Appearance: medium-deep purple red. Aroma: raspberry, earth, minerals, hint of black pepper Medium-bodied wine with very good acidity, soft tannins and good balance. Fresh, fruity, juicy wine with good concentration. Very good length.
A notch down from the amazing 2008 vintage, but still very good.

Very floral, wilted rose petal, soft red fruits, warm strawberry compote, some spiciness, dried ginger, orange pekoe tea. Dried strawberries on the palate, very soft, lots of freshness coupled with rasinated fruits, sarsaparilla, dry, lifted finish. Savory and fresh. Paired with wood grilled quail with frisée, fennel and sherry soaked currents.

Aromas conjure up red and purple flowers along with crushed berries. The flavors are red-fruity with a backbone of freshness and a definite herbal fringe. Here we have what I imagine might be the Sicilian sun but not overdone. I marvel at the level of ripeness she achieves--never too much.

There are wines that conjure thoughts of a sunny day. This is one of those wines. Even as the clouds roll in for our latest deluge and Biblical great flood event, a sip of SP68 requires mandatory use of SPF68 to prevent burns. Yes it has red fruits and herbal accents, but it's more about standing in the orchard as a cool breeze takes the edge off the warmth of the mid-day sun. It is hard to imagine a wine that can make Beaujolais seem ponderous, but this one does it. Smile inducing wine.

177 NOK. Forsmak: Nydelig særegen lukt, blåbær og bringebær. Nydelig til grotte-pecorino. Slank og elegant, svakt og litt skjemmende fjøspreg. 1 dag i flaske: Fløyelsmyk, rik og kanskje litt søt.

Very light color and tight nose. Difficult nose to describe - very dark, old jam perhaps. Very nice juicy mid mouth of cherry and very dark fruits, almost like a really fresh pinot noir. Stronger finish than entry with some thyme. Very tasty and well done - easy drinking.

Restrained fruit. As much earthiness as berry, which I prefer. Hints of leather, smoke and tobacco. A wine you could imagine having daily with lunch or dinner, not nearly noticing it enough but sufficiently pleased to open a bottle day after day. Nothing sophisticated or worth studying endlessly. The classical elements are all there-- balance, fulness and finish.

The second wine out of a mixed case I bought last week at Le Vigne in the West Village. Great backstory here, a 28 yr. old woman making natural wines almost by herself in southern Sicily, Arianna Occhipinti, niece of one of the partners of the COS winery, which in turn makes my go-to Cerasuolo di Vittoria (everyone needs one, right?). Labeled red blend here per cellartracker convention, it's a blend of nero d'avola and the delightful frappato. A promising ruby color, heady, frappato-infused nose of fresh ripe raspberries, picking up notes of dark cherry, smoke and leather perhaps as the nero kicks in. Medium bodied, it again shows attractive berry and black cherry fruit on the palate with an herbal tang. It's an interesting contrast to my mayolet of the other night, geographically and stylistically as far away from each other as they could possibly be and still be called Italian, each a distinct native beauty.

As always a nice, fresh and balanced wine, easy to drink. Some plum and cerises a l'eau de vie (the fruit, not the alcohol). Good acidity. Not as much depth as her Frappato or her Siccagno but boy it is a pure joy to drink. Grazie !

App: pale purple red Aroma: floral nose with spices, mandarin, and something b/w coffee and lava Medium body and good structure. Still a little harsh with some unavailable tannins. Quite a lot of minerals on the palate. Good length
Not as good as the 08, but I guess it should improve in a couple of years

Very tight nose; full of chalky blue fruit with bright red fruit hiding around the edges. In the mouth, it is liquid blackberry torte; almost a limp jam profile though and is a hair too 1-dimensional and undecided, as if the blend needed to go more in one direction rather than dead in the middle? Enjoyable nonetheless, though not nearly as exciting as her Frappato or Siccagno.
