pours a brownish golden yellow. A little cloudy (unfined/unfiltered). Drank at cellar temp (55F). Smells like sherry and white flowers. Palate hits you with saltiness, bruised green apple, pickled peach and a good medium+ acidity backbone. Big body. Salty funkiness lingers for a while. Classic Jura, but very well balanced. Hint of cinnamon? There’s some spicy note.

It's not so laser-focused as before. Much more round and dialed-down but a more complete and nuanced wine at the moment. I like the smoky preserved lemon flavors and salty/citrus finish. Should drink well for the next handful of years.

A blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin aged in oak barrels sous voile. From what I've understood, this is made by selecting which Savagnin barrels don't have enough character for the Château-Chalon and then blending those with Chardonnay. I'm not sure if Macle makes two different wines labeled only "Côtes du Jura" or if the style has changed at some point, because some tech sheets I can find say this wine is a blend of Chardonnay (50%) and Savagnin (50%) aged for 3 years under voile, whereas other tech sheets say this is a blend of Chardonnay (80-85%) and Savagnin (15-20%) aged for 18 months under voile. Anyway, this is a traditional, oxidatively made Jura white, no matter how you look at it. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 14% alcohol.
Moderately deep golden yellow color with a pale bronze core. Wonderfully evolved and attractively complex nose with moderately oxidative aromas of bruised apple, some browned butter, a little bit hazelnut, light sweeter notes of nectarine and lemon marmalade, an aldehydic hint of sorrel and a touch of smoke. The wine is evolved, firm and tangy on the palate with a medium body and dry, sharp flavors of lemony citrus fruit, aldehydic notes of green almonds and tangy salinity, light Granny Smith apple tones, a little bit of creaminess that is leaning towards browned butter, a hint of chopped hazelnuts and a touch of stony minerality. The high acidity lends great sense of structure to the wine, making it feel almost electric on the palate. The finish is long, crunchy and very lively with flavors of aldehydic sorrel and sharp salinity, some oxidative notes of chopped nuts and bruised apple, light lemony notes, a hint of mushroomy funk and a touch of cooked cream.
A beautifully evolved, complex and precise Jura white made in the traditional, oxidative style. Tasting this side-by-side with the vintage 2010, the difference was remarkable, this wine being very traditional, oxidative and high in acidity, whereas the 2010 vintage felt noticeably fruitier and less oxidative with relatively modest acidity compared to this vintage. Both great wines in their own way, but to me this vintage was pretty much as classic as a traditional Jura white gets - just the way I love them - whereas the 2010 was more like a Jura white with training wheels (probably more accessible for most people as well). At 26€, this wine is definitely worth the price.

Lots of color here. Almost brown. I don't think this was completely fined/filtered as the last quarter was quite brown. The fruit didn't show anything in the way of being passed prime. There is sherry like oxidation of course but none of the aged variety. The Savignan is showing strongly with that lemon oil. Touches of tropical fruits. Strongly rich feeling still. Good power for a baseline wine. This seems to be aging slowly.

Piercing aromas of peat, almond, limonene, agave syrup, and -- did I say peat? High toned with enamel-stripping acidity and a smoky, nutty finish. Definitely not for the faint of heart (The '09 was quite tame in comparison). Drink now until 2030+.
A much more proper bottle compared to the previous one, which may have had a dodgy cork.

So disappointing after the last and very interesting bottle. This bottle had all the unforturnate elements that wines in this style. I'm glad I got a good impression from that first bottle.

Very Sherry-like, from initial aromas to the taste, yet not. Settles down into a very complex panoply of flavors. Can this really go the distance. Hope I'm around to say.

Oxidative style whites and orange wines: Bright colour and intense nose. Fino Jerez on the nose as well as nuts, multilayered, buttery finish, there's also honey and resin. Butter cookies are on the background. As others said, it is very young, give it time.

Decanted, but poured a little in a glass to taste immediately. Impressive right out of the bottle - oxidative, pungent, savory, tart, delicious. Walnuts, sour orange, butterscotch, herbs, stone. Expansive, good length, quite nice. With 2 hours of air, not a huge change; has developed some apple and grain notes, but also lost a little of its general intensity. In any case, quite enjoyable. Saved half the bottle for tomorrow - curious to see what more air does.
Day 2: Not a huge change, but has picked up some extra intensity; stronger oxidative character, while still in balance. Really nice fresh herbaceous note. More noticeable acidity as well as more savory richness and complexity, so by my reckoning a day of air was unambiguously a good thing.

Deep and profound love for this wine. Done Sous Voile. Nutty and citrus nose. Really pronounced. Even haunting. Palate is rich but lightened by acidity. Savoriness. Long. Finish goes on for ages. This is easily among the small cadre of 'best' of Jura producers with Puffeney and this is incredibly successful.

In the aroma: turmenic, floral honey, walnuts. The taste is surprisingly fresh and vibrant, with a focused acidity. Walnuts linger in the aftertaste. Quite a flavor experience.
