PnP was worrisome, it was strangely woody and thin. However after a couple hours the fruit showed up and the bitterness almost completely dissipated. Not uncommon with some Oregon pinots, they need a lot of air, or more time in bottle, to settle down. A Vinturi really helped, pretty dramatic difference immediately before and after.

This wine delivered in a super surprising way. I have always been a big fan of Trisaetum and its pinots, but never have their pinots delivered like this one did. Super well balanced, with a strong fruity midpalatte balanced against mellow tannins and good acidity. Each sip morphed in the mouth, bringing out layers of flavors that delighted and surprised me as we slowly consumed the bottle. Very nice pinot.

Excellent. Drank alongside 06 Archery Summit Estate, 06 Shea Homer, and 2010 Kosta Browne RR, and 09 Lynmar Jenkins. This was my second favorite simply because the Kosta Browne finish was outstanding. Excellent Pinot with good balance and solid expression of Oregon style, only thing holding back was a shorter finish than the Kosta Browne we had next to it

Combines the best of the Ribbon Ridge and Coast Range, with the beautiful coffee/game/orange of the latter and the depth and ripeness of the former. Serious stuff.

This was my first Trisaetum. I had this with Christmas dinner. Pot roast with carrots and onions, pasta salad, green salad, potatoes augraten, apple pie, etc. This was a full bodied pinot, great consistency, smooth tannins. Great fruit flavors, a touch of spice, still young but stood up to every piece of the meal wonderfully. This would obviously benefit from a few more years in the bottle, but is definitely drinkable now. This was lovely, but not memorable enough for the price.

Their Reserve is a mix of all their vineyards using their best fruit. More expressive than their other bottlings, nice layers and subtle power, easy dark cherry finish lingers. Balance is well done, with acidity and medium light tannins. This will develop more over the years, I would save what you have for now. Producer says the 2007 is great right now.

Initially, the nose is tight and not giving much away. Then there is a rain fall of rose petals, followed by fresh fruit and berries, silky smooth, with quite high acidity (not too much) and very pure. I hate comparing oregon wine to burgundy, but this was by far one of the most burgundian pinots I've had from the new world. Probably partly related to the vintage in question. And still there is that mature fruit and forest floor mushroom magic combination that one finds in young oregon pinots of high quality. Agree very much with the TN by mr Keith Akers.

Pinot in the City (City Winery, Chicago, IL): Without a doubt my Wine of the Day. All one could want in a shroomy rich, peaty wine. Lots of white pepper, white Alba truffle, bright pink rose petals. Long finish. Really great mouth feel. This has everything. One of the best Oregon Pinot Noir I've tasted.

Taste: Gorgeous and silky medium body with medium/high acidity. The structure shows its youth along with beautiful tones of red fruits, cherries, plums, roses, and lots of wild flowers.
Overall: This was showing beautifully. This was one of the best wines on the day and was more open than in january. There was very good depth and layering already. I would love to see where this goes with age.

"Pinot in the City" tasting (Chicago, Ill): Jim Frey. One of our favorites in the tasting. Still young, so a little tight with sharp tannins. But overall, an elegant, silky wine with fresh cherries, dark berries, spices, earth. Concentrated and deep. With more time will be amazing. (Doris: WOW. #1 of the 3 Trisaethum's)

Taste: The youth is really showing on the palate with medium body and tart medium/high acidity. There is nice balance with fresh tones of cherries, violets, and fresh picked berries.
Overall: This needs some real down time. It shows something very good underneath, but the structure is a bit imposing right now.

At the winery tasting room. In the glass: Light magenta, long legs. On the nose: Typical Pinot of cherries & spice, touch of herbal. In the mouth: pepper spice & cherries, toasty oak, good tannins, light bitter finish. Nice. Overpriced at Retail $55

More approachable upon opening than previous bottle, might have been bottle variation. Very enjoyable, still fresh and showing just a touch of age.

Very nice Pinot. A bit over-rated IMO... and overpriced by quite a bit, not a great value.

Balanced and complex offering. Lots of red fruit but still a steady grip and matching acidity. Wonderfully crafted product.

More expressive than other bottles on the nose (heady), but I felt the alcohol was a touch high to have great balance. Very good, though.

Tasted at estate. Best barrels from best blocks. Bright big fruit, oak, smoky, nose but big round flavors, some cocoa powder in the finish.
