Amazingly good and in a really great spot !! Consumed with friends alongside other great Rhone varietals. Perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle. Dark burgundy color with no evidence of oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, and Garrique. Flavors of rhubarb, black cherry, and rose hips with a hint of licorice with a long finish. A very balanced flavorful Rhone blend of 87% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and 3% Grenache from Willow Creek District of Paso Robles in the Central Coast. This is an age worthy wine with more years of life left, fortunately I still have one bottle of this vintage remaining in my cellar. Great fruit and a great winemaking effort by Matt Trevisan.

Decanted 4 hours. Tasted along side 2009 Saxum Jane's Berry. Deep ruby color. Still had plenty of life in it, but it's just about perfect right now. Dark cherry, licorice, pepper flavors on the palate. Served with grilled beef. Fan favorite of the evening. With decant, perfectly smooth, integrated, great balance of fruit and acidity.

Nose of crushed red berry, some violet. Great balance of delicate black raspberry, red cherry with some subtle spice on the finish. Very refined, still with solid tannic structure.

Rich dark berry fruits in the nose and flavor. Blackberries, black cherries, tobacco, and some leather in the nose. Plums, black cherries, and currants in the flavor, with hints of spice in the long finish. Well balanced wine with nice complexity and full body. Definitely in the 93/94 range.

Pop and pour - note after 90 minutes. Blueberries and raspberries on the nose. Similar fruit on the palate. A bit of heat on the finish. I do not see this improving.

A nose of dark fruit and minerals, dark black purple in color. A full bodied and bold red blend, with black berries, black raspberries, spice and minerals and a smooth long finish. Can use a short decant still, drink now. www.winelx.com

Anniversary dinner, accompanied by pasta and chicken in a red sauce. There's a locomotive lurking under this lusty red. Waves of Asian spices, wildflowers, deep dark fruit, cedar and tar. Very elegant for a wine of this power. But you can hear that locomotive churning underneath. Earns its 90+ rating. (=Worth seeking out)

I would have given this 94 points out of the gate, but over time the fruit taste flattened and did not have the type of acidity to carry brighter flavors to the finish. I wouldn't wait on this, even though there seems to be tannin and structure to burn.

Opaque purple with attractive glycerine legs. Opens way too spicy and alcohol hot. Settles down and opens up quickly with a vigorous decant and 30 minutes in the decanter. Then reveals liquified raspberries and blueberries, with some apricot jam. Meaty and savory on the palate with beef blood, iron and a lightly grilled component. Lush finish -- but only after the decant. Lovely.

Initial impression - very seductive perfume of roses and raspberries. Over time, this diminished and, at last, became a rich, but rather heavy wine. I'll remember that first impression. Nemesis, indeed.

87% syrah, 10% mourvedre, 3% grenache. 15.2% alcohol. Blood red center with a violet rim. Highly expressive nose of raspberry and cherry mixed with a touch of soy and tobacco. The palate is deep with red-fruits, black pepper, and mineral notes. There is balanced acidity and youthful, but rounded tannins with air. Overall, I expected more ripeness, but the firmness and overall flavor profile make this a very enjoyable wine.

Drinking well indeed at the Harvest Party. LC wines are not inexpensive by any measure, but they do drink very well after just a few years and are worth the money.

Initial nose of ink, fresh linin, tart dark stone fruits, and a touch musty. The ink character faded after a few minutes of swirling in the glass. Palate of tart cherry, cola and leather transitioning into dark fruit over time. This was a heavy wine, earthy fruit, and had a bitter middle and medium-length, somewhat tannic finish. The wine had some acidic harshness that seemed a touch out of balance; perhaps will improve with age.

Very nicely made, fully ready Syrah. A bit of dilution in the midpalate perhaps, since this does not seem to have the power of a couple of earlier vintages I've had. Still, very enjoyable and hedonistic.

Interesting Rhone blend of 87% Syrah, 10% Mouredre, and 3% Grenache. Decanted in the glass. Given the Syrah proportion, surprisingly light and Grenache-like. These Syrah grapes obviously not of the deep and dense variety. Even so, most pleasing and a great food wine.

big fruit, big finish, a little rough on the edges, but one of my recent favorites with a big meaty dinner. This is a good wine to have if you're having a umami-ful meal. Certainly could have waited another year or two to tap the first bottle, and it's got another several years left

Popped and poured. Initally closed, it began unveiling itself over the following several hours. Blue and dark fruits in perfect balance, placid, sedate, in a comforting way, like having a serious talk with your grandparents or lounging in an overstuffed chair.

Consistent with my previous note. Soft, fruit-driven and mellow. I prefer a little more attitude but this goes down very easily. Started drinking this immediately after opening and it improved considerably with the passage of time right up to the two hour point when it was finished.

PnP. Very dark, opaque in color. Smoke and leather aromas on opening followed by earthy plum flavors. Interesting sweetness on the finish. Almost reminded me more of a ripe Sonoma syrah than Paso Robles. Enjoyable and drinking well now with a little air.

Raspberry, oak and mineral nose. This is a plush, soft, fruit-driven wine with a subtle pepper spike in the finish. Minimal tannins. Very mellow and clearly meant for early consumption. I prefer Syrah's with a little more attitude but enjoyed this nonetheless.
