the last of my bottles and not a hint of premox - I have been lucky with the Combettes - this has been a lovely wine over the years and perhaps only just starting a slow gentle decline

Dinner at Cafe de HK (Cafe de HK, Balestier Road): A very solid 1er Cru, probably the best of the trio of whites we had. The nose was classic Sauzet Puligny, with wafts of cream, white fruit and florals lined with a bit of minerality. The palate had a lovely shape to it, clear and defined, with a fine frame of mineral and acidity carrying nice flavours of green apples, pears, and a touch of mineral, this leading into a finish touched with fresh cream, and just that kiss of flowers and spice. Nothing mindblowing complex, but otherwise really pretty good stuff that seems to be drinking at just around peak.

this was very nice, but not a match for previous bottles, I would say this was still youthful but the depth of fruit / minerals wasn't quite there... could this be in a quiet period? nicely done but a little ho hum

This opened up very nicely with dried apricot, red apple, a touch of honey and light walnuts; mouth is nice and creamy and yogurty, with a fairly rich body and moderate plus acid, soft and caressing in the attack, but more spine in the back end. Very nice, not especially complex, but lovely mouthfeel and finish. Showing some age for sure, but holding up nicely--but this is ready now. I would not expect this to improve much.

Last in the lot. Pale yellow in color, showing a bit of age. Lemon, flinty nose and a hint flower aroma hiding in the back. Slightly reduced in the mouth with minerality and stone taking charge, lemon, bit of nuts. Mid palate burst into a smooth, flinty finish where the flowers moves to the front. Good one, it is better than Leflaive's Pucelles for 2004.

had at dinner after golf, not enough concentration to judge the nose but the palate was fantastic, definitely could taste the age on this chard with some marshmallow and sweetness / caramel coming on but absolutely had citrusy acid to go alongside and make it sing, drink up now as this was the freshest of three bottles i've tried (and the best), hope my one more drinks the same

nice wine, some aging going on (a touch of smoke and some caramel flavors), no notes so not rated but i know if was bested by it's twin from 2008 a night later… we like them light, tight and tense i guess

4 bottles - two dead with premox (but one decently replaced by shop). Others lovely - lovely pale yellow-olive colour, very restrained, classy, mineral, ripe, long, with a good few years to go. outclassed a 2004 Batard from Jadot.

just at the right point between aged and tight/fresh, some sweet lemon fruit and acid along with a touch of caramel, but overall very fresh, drank at Paris reunion and went fast as the crowd loved it, could match the '94 version we had of this wine at Tour D'Argent however

Gorgeous nose of sweet corn kernel and lime/mint. Follows through on the palate with flavors of corn, lime and mint combined with good acids in an elegant, sweet-fruited package. Lighter-bodied with a lovely complexity on the finish with notes of limestone minerals and hazelnut spice. Quite fine and to me, quite ready to drink.

Pop and pour, followed over next 90 minutes. Citrus, green apple and mineral driven with some very subtle oak spice and acacia flowers. What makes it stand out is the detail, balance and precision. Lovely.

Clear pale lemon. On the nose, one can find pearch, cashew, pear. Medium body and medium acidity, well balanced and refreshing. After 90 minutes, the wine becomes a more complex, more flinty and wet stone swirled into the fruit. A cheerful white wine to start a wine lunch with friends!

Light yellow in color, nose of wet stones with citrus fruit snd a bit of white flowers. After an hour the wine really opened up, medium plus palate with good depth, nice long wet stone finish liking licking a wet rock, very good and can keep.

Clarendon syndicate at Peat Spade - must have been a root day coz none of the wines showed very well... this Combettes was best of the night - very precise and pure.

Waaaay too young. Initially showing only flint and gunpowder, after two hours began to open into a very mineral, classic Puligny profile. Oak most notable in its absence; it may be new, but if so, a very light toast. Ashamed that fear of premox led me to even open one so young. Wait 5 years. Worth the risk

A bit light on the nose though not very chilled - stone, grass, lemon zest. Light yellow, medium weight, long finish, again stone/mineral and lemon/lime rather than fruit, refreshing and cut nicely through food but not convinced value for money given likely cost, not particularly complex or surprising.

At first a bit shy and muscular then fairly expressive aromas of wet stones/minerals with hints of white flowers and Chard fruit and just a trace of butter cream. Similar flavors with a toasty oak note on the backend of a lingering finish. I really like the feel of this wine, rich yet very lite on the palette, almost ethereal. I enjoyed this wine immensely but this needs more time to display what lies underneath the dominate wet stones aromas and flavors. Love the potential here.

Scott M. Dinner Party (Home): Medium yellow color. Medium mineral yellow fruit nose. Lovely round yellow tropical fruit with good minerality. Open and sexy for an 04 burg.
