Delicious well-made wine and a steal for the money. Stands out for its freshness and nice backbone of acidity. Super silky tannins and nice dark berry fruit and some mint on the nose. Medium body.

This is superb at this stage. Dark fruit, sweet core with strong acidity as well. Tastes of the bosco. Well worth keeping. A bargain for what it cost when new.

PnP at a restaurant and was immediately ready to go. Vibrant dark red fruit on the palate, nicely balanced with medium acidity and resolved tannins. Drinking very well and in its sweet spot right now. Better than expected and glad I have more.

Each bottle of this is better than the last. Still a big wine, but tannins almost tamed and excellent dark fruit. Drinking nicely now, but at a good few years to go.

Antonio Galloni gave this a 93 with maturity of 2020. @cellartracker community say 2017. I would have to agree with Antonio. This is a beautiful wine with more year ahead.

Definitely starting to come round now. Rich, dark profile with nice sweetness. Still some tannins, but great with steak. No improvement next day, just softer, so I would think 2017-2018 is about right for finishing these.

More balanced and oak much more integrated by now. Still a dense palate with high extract but some provence herbs and gravel ads some finesse which were hidden earlier when the oak dominated. balanced, intense, dark fruited with medium-long finish and smooth sweet tannins

opened this up last night for a business dinner we were hosting, but never got to it - so it sat for a couple of hours open in bottle - put the cork back in, and re-opened tonight and just poured - much nicer than last time, not overly sweet, better balanced and wonderful nose, almost a bit earthy. So either some more time in the cellar since last time or the extended airing did some good.

Dark Garnet in color. Dark fruit, herbs and oak on the nose. Palate of blackberries, pomegranate, eucalyptus, oak and herbs. Fruit prominent but somewhat balanced by acidity and herbs. No entirely one dimensional but not too complex. I enjoyed my previous bottle a bit more than this one.

Sorry to have purchased three bottles, not sure what came over me with this buy. Bad purchase based on Antonio's review and a good price. Saw it wasn't aged in new barrels and thought it wouldn't be obnoxious. Should have trusted my gut that it would be too modern, and I don't buy 'Super Tuscan' blends like this. Any of the 60% sangiovese character is obliterated by the 40% cab. Didn't enjoy this at all. Will open the remaining bottles when guests are over who dig modern styled wines.

Nice fruity nose upon popping the cork and decanting. Medium-dark ruby-red. At first tasting seemed a little light and a touch sweet without sufficient tannin.
After one hour the wine had gained weight and come into balance with delicious red cherry fruits and oaky notes that combine in a long finish.
The wine is not bad and I rate it at a more than solid 91.

Agree that this is a very modern wine. Very concentrated and expressive, very oaky. With that said, I enjoyed this wine, it felt lush on the palate and exhibited a lot of quality. Glad I have more. Will improve with age but drinking quite well right now.

Very new world in style, and very tasty if you like this style. No detailed notes as this was consumed a few weeks ago, but as others have noted - cherry, menthol, and oak presence are dominant. A well made wine.

Holy Moly! If you are averse to highly extracted, heavily oaked new world style wine, stay clear of this one! Dark ruby in color. The nose is classic super tuscan, the oak predominant, almost overshadowing, some nice cassis, blackberry, dark cherry and herbs on the nose. The palate bursts with layers upon layers of creme de cassis, menthol, dark cherry and dark raspberry all cloaked in quite a lot of toasty oak. This is one dense, mouthcoating, fleshy display of dark fruit. The finish is persistent, severe, and long. No doubting the quality in the glass, this is expertly crafted, albeit perhaps a bit "generic " in style. Although with time (2-3 hours in decanter), the oak integrates a bit into the fruit, I still think it needs further integration and it could have used a bit more acidity to balance the fruit. I think there may be upside on this within the next 3-5 years. Its a lovely, modern, fruit and oak wine which shaped up expertly to steak bearnaise!

I find it interesting that a lot of people have said that it's not at all recognizable as Italian, but rate it so highly. Tasted blind, this would never be picked out as Italian except on a lucky guess. It's not a bad wine, but it has no sense of place, it's all fruit and nothing else (acid, tannin, interest). And in no way is this QPR for me. I can find similar wines in the $12-$15 range from CdR (seriously -- this tastes nothing like sangio). Even worse on day 2. I don't see this getting better with age and it is definitely not a rebuy @$20+.

Retailer tasting: Ripe red fruits and some spiciness in the bouquet. On the palate a fruity and juicy, somewhat sweet start, a good balance between sweetness and acidity and firm tannin and bitterness. Still very youthful but in a year or three this will be a beautiful wine. So from 2015 onwards.

First bottle was slightly off. This bottle was what I was looking for, a drinkable red that wasn't too fruit forward and a good value. Background, rather fine tannins give structure to a fairly ripe wine with red/black fruits, earth tones, and fullness. 2 hours in a decanter makes this oh so much better. Although one could cellar this for a few years, I'm going to drink it. I'll be looking for the 2010 as a candidate for the cellar.

Notes of blackberry, coco powder, floral and some vanilla. This is full-bodied with densely packed fruit wrapped in firm, yet silky tannins. A delicious Super Tuscan with a backbone to last over a decade in your cellar if you can wait that long. 60% Sangiovese, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. (Drink 2013-2025)

Not much of a nose, but what a flavor. First impression is a very concentrated, intense blackberry flavor, with a bit of syrupy/tarry follow on. It then unfolds with layers of fruit and spice, a nice long finish. If I can restrain myself, I would like to taste this after a few more years in the cellar. But it is so good now.
