Still dark fruit/herbs, this bottle adds some grilled meat/umami that have come with age. The structural notes are integrated. Fully mature now, drink through its 10th birthday.

Rather tasty on p'n'p, especially with food. Lots of acid and the finish is, as others have noted, a bit short, so definitely a food wine. Some current and graphite. Not your typical plush napa cab.

This wine reminded me of a Tolstoy novel.....after opening, it took a long time to get interesting and then had a meh finish. It left me wondering---why do so many people like this?

restrained nose shows mix of red and black fruit and minerality. Palate shows wet stone, raspberry, red cherry, tea, and other herbal notes. Medium acidity goes well with food. Astringency on otherwise short finish is disappointing. Reasonable value and like the structure here.

PnP was too tight and tannic, so first glasses got a Vinturi treatment, which aided the in glass expressiveness and development. Still, pretty tightly wound with modest development only over next 4 hours, with dark red and black fruits, powdered red rock, fabric softener, walnuts, some peppercorn. More minerally than fruity to me on the palate, medium body, medium+ tannins. 88-89+

Hmmm. Structured on the end finishes off this velvet type wine, but with a healthy dose of coffee, graphite and minerals. acidity is minimal. also get some xmas fruit cake. this is quite good and will likely age a bit more, but can be enjoyed now and in near term.

Poured through the Vinturi on night 1 and pop and pour after VinVac on night 2. This had strong structure with full tannins. Dark fruit carries the day.

PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Nice nose of dark red fruit, a little earth and dust. On the palate, tremendous mouthfeel. Wonderful balance. Moderately tannic. Long finish. Dark red fruit, earth. Very well made. 91pts. Aloha!

This wine may be entering an awkward phase right now, will the fruit last long enough to balance the tannin? The wine was decanted about 30 minutes, and by the end of the bottle had started to open up some. Still probably a good time to drink this one.

Joint venture between Lagier-Meredith & Pott. Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot & Syrah. 244 cs. made. Opaque hue. PnP a glass at first, and found it powerfully tannic and bold. Slow o'd for 1 hour & Vinturied next 2 glasses, then consumed rest over next 4 hours. Reticent bouquet at this stage w/Bordeaux-like aromas of cassis, dark berries, cigarbox, & trace of fresh garden pepper. Rich, flavorful & Old World-style on palate w/notes of black currant, tart dark berries, garden herbs, tobacco leaf & hint of bell pepper & dark licorice anise. Dry, medium:full bodied w/fine grainy tannins, medium:soft acidity, and a moderate finish. Think this has the structure to improve w/few more years of cellaring.

Popped and let sit for 2 hours before drinking which really helped this wine. Deep red in color with a touch of smoked cherry and vanilla. Flavors of spice, cherry juice with a nice balance of acid, fruit and tanin. A completely enjoyable wine.

Consumed over the course of three days. Rustic aromas of tar, black olives, potting soil, lingonberry and plums. Lithe on the palate, demonstrating impeccable textural balance and restraint, but I wish there was more concentration and depth of flavor. 86-87 points.

Popped and poured with burgers at the Richmond - elicited an audible note of disgust from drinking compatriot. Incredibly disjointed out of the bottle - alcohol on the nose and palate, bitter and tannic. Over the course of the next hour, the wine change dramatically, but not enough to say that I every really enjoyed it. Big fruit is lurking in there (somewhere), and you can occasionally taste the syrah... but the bottle we had was no where near ready. Not sure what other are saying about this being balanced and drinking well right now.
Do not drink without a substantial decant; I'll revisit in a couple years time.

I drank one of these in early 2012 and it was a hot disjointed mess. It was no better this time. Strongly alcoholic, little fruit. Disappointing.

Dark red berries and spices, this wine is at a good place right now, but I am not sure it will ever evolve into something much better.
