Year end Champagne lunch (Singapore): All wines tasted blind. A rare bird, small production, very different to the prestige blends we just had in the middle flight. The palate is strict and racy, a touch oxidative but not overly so. Very dry, fine perlage. Like Selosse, not a beginner's Champagne. Definitely with food and not apero.
First time having Prevost and thoroughly impressed. Generous red fruits, a powerful style of champagne with an elegant mouthcoating texture, unlike other Meunier champagnes that can be a little brutish. When the bubbles dissipated this could have passed for a white Burg with a some oxidative notes.

Quite dark in color. Initially some moldy aromatic notes had me concerned this was corked, but this blew off with time. Brown butter, exotic kumquat (fruit and bitter rind). Very nice, and improved with time in the glass. We drank this a little too quickly, but I'm relieved that this one was enjoyable after my previous bottle. Fruit day.

Disappointing. Simple white grape flavors on the front, with a brief kick of that Prevost minerality on the back end but otherwise almost boring. Just didn't deliver a great experience. I enjoyed this much more two years ago and am perplexed regarding how this vintage has developed.

The Tale of Many Auslese and One Scheu: really opened up after time in the glass - i would say this may be a bit young. creamy, with granny smith apples and toast. touch of sweet fruit in the mid but a long dry finish. this was lovely - like drinking mousse. One of the few champagnes to ever make me want to taste more :) with time green apples and the creamy texture really took over... very decadent.

In the House of MLERMONTOV (New York, Rego Park): The nose was gorgeous with smoke and minerals up front, yet with time in the glass I found peach skin, yellow flowers, hints of bread crusts and copper. It entered the palate angular and firm, only to quickly smooth out, enticing the senses with tart apple, minerals and Bree. The tart, mineral finish was perfectly accentuated by mouthwatering acidity. Very nice.

Very youthful and undeveloped, but just a short amount of air was needed for this to show great depth, with intense minerality in the foreground. Fascinating, singular Champagne. I'd like to see how this develops and will try to wait at least two years before opening another.

Distinctive PM Complexity on nose. Yet to develop same depth of character on palate - but should rate higher and be somewhat of a bargain if kept 5-10 years. Currently a straw yellow with tiny hint of pink (compared to others tased alongside - may be less noticeable on its own)

Downright gorgeous right out of the gate, but clearly time for development. Tense and wound up, with a dart of acid that gives it real life. Nicely integrated oak that is present and gives richness but never pokes out. So much energy!

Very closed out of the gates, but it gains texture, aromatics and weight with aeration. The wine shows plenty of ripeness with lemon and pineapple fruit vivified by bone-tingling acidity and an electric undercurrent of chalky minerals. This needs another three to five years on the cork to show its best.

Clearly shows its age and evolution. Light effervescence, oxidative notes along honey and spice notes. Not my fave vintage but pleasurable with food.

Excellent Champagne, bulle fine, encore très vif, un grand plaisir.

Kavring bread, smoked salami, animalic funkiness, coffee. Quite heavy but still fairly fresh. Very nice.
