  • I think this was drinking tight after a burst of fruit on opening. I decanted for an hour than drank it starting another hour later. I took half the bottle home to and will try it again....90. I froze the half bottle at the end of the night....Now a glass after defrosting is smoother with more fruit...a bit of alcohol showing. Medium vibrant fruit...currant and cassis. Some acid medium length finish...I think this will improve....3 years.

  • Very good call four years ago. This did get better. It's aging nicely and there are now some tertiary notes along with the red fruit. It still is sappy, woody and assertive but it feels more rounded. It is at a great spot now. Not sure if it will get better but it should linger like this for a few years. Drink on the short term.

  • Open in the bottle for about 3.5 hours. Nose and palate was initially all over the place, oppressive oak, sweet cherry syrup, grody earth. But after some time to open up it is much more balanced. Nose is candied cherries, a bit of smoke and a menthol finish. On the palate the cherries skew more ripe than candied and there is some green strawberry along with a bit of oaky vanilla. I think this still has some more integrating to do; I would give it another couple years or so before trying again.

Update: day 2 it has improved, still quite ripe but now more austere, in a good way. The acidity is finally peaking out and holding up the finish; I like it much more now than the night before. Definitely needs some time in the bottle.

  • Ripe cherries, some earth and a hint of decay, silky texture, adequate acidity. Entering maturity phase. A decent Beaune.

  • Expressive nose with lots of light red fruit, ripe strawberries, raspberry candy, rhubarbs, light toast and lots pf pinot perfume. Dry, light bodied, good acidity, soft tannins but rather austere on the palate. Good intensity and length. Tasty!

  • Red fruits with woody and sappy overtones. Well structured with enough backbone to develop another five years. Enjoyable now but I think it will get better.

  • Mature looking considering it's youth, funky aromatics and palate, some sort of perfumed paint (in a good way) dry curious and very enjoyable. 91+ needs time.

  • Explosive nose of smoke, sweet red berries (strawberries, sweet raspberries), also some dark berries (dark cherries), iron, crushed flowers and some cigar smoke. On the palate there is mainly sweet red fruit again, dark berries, caramel, sweet spices. It's medium+ bodied and super fresh, with medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin that is very silky. Good finish. A great Beaune 1er Cru that combines the richness of the producer with the suppleness of the Cru and the freshness of the vintage.

  • Les Domaines Familiaux de Bourgogne (Paris): not as perfumed as the ClB, a bit more vivid acid, a lot of dark cherries as well, very balanced and "streamlined", totally decent length, really good and reasonable Pinot which did not go under in the presence of such big shots
