Dark crimson in color. 15.3% ABV. Exquisite nose of brambly red and black fruits, baking spices, anise and pepper. Full bodied with ample acidity. Well balanced. Big and plush with fruit in spades. Raspberry liqueur, black cherry, earth and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Just a delicious Zinfandel from a challenging vintage that keeps you coming back for more. Best over the next year or so.

A faint hint of raisin in the aroma at this point, with great acid, subtle pepper, soft but mouth coating tannins, figs, plums, cassis, dark bramble berries, lots of palate spice, medium body. Fantastic with Korean BBQ.

We had this with grilled gourmet burgers on 4/18/17. It had a deep, rich and dense bouquet of violet, blackberry, boysenberry, pepper, anise and spice aromas. The palate was rich, dense and thick with flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, pepper, clove and spice.

Spicy plum and blackberry on the palate, with a bit of pepper. Alcohol covered and tannins resolved. Juicy, almost chewy, with a long finish. At its peak, I think.

45 minute decant, which was a good idea, give this some air. The nose is a tangy cherry/boysenberry mix with some heated spiciness added in. The palate is medium in tannins and a little brisk on the acidic side, with red fruits, bramble, earth and licorice all well played. Medium bodied with a long finish, the mouthfeel is juicy and bright. This is a lively, well made zin, another great bottle of Turley.

Really enjoyed this wine. Decanted over an hour. Inky purple. Pleasant fruity nose. Ripe lush black and fruit with an enjoyable touch of second fermentation/sprit going on. Greater than 30 sec finish. Very good stuff.

We drank this after a Rattlesnake Ridge zin 2010 with petit filet grilled and made into sandwiches with truffle butter. Fantastic pairing. This zin had more character and was less jammy than the Rattlesnsnake. Nice dark fruit with perfect balance of acid and fruit. Long finish. The group of 5, all foodies and well versed in wine, agreed this was the better of the two - but not by much. Have 1 more bottle which I look forward to.

Decant this puppy for an hour, pour, sip, and enjoy. Delightful zin. Not in your face spice, rather subtle tones of tobacco, pepper and black berries. Smooth and delicious with a nice medium finish.

Deep dark garnet color; still purple on the rim. A fairly brambly nose, with aromas of blackberry (prominent), raspberry, hints of blueberry, black pepper and spice. Flavors are much the same with a little pomegranate. Good structure. Tannins are not totally resolved, but not so much as to not appreciate the wine. Rich and somewhat powerful in the mouth. A decent finish. Paired well with pasta and Italian meat sauce.

Deep ruby; intense nose with pomegranate, spice, ripe but not overly hot; palate is full bodied, ripe blackberry fruit; medium to short finish. Very nice, well made in the Classic Turley style. 89-90

peppery nose dominates at first, then the fruit kicks in. Nice big zin that did the job I expected it to do. I like Turley zins young, so this as about as old as I let one get, and it seemed like a nice age to be drinking it.

At first this seemed like the fruit had dropped out and it was past it's prime, but I was wrong. Open for an hour or two spice and dusty minerals emerge. Fruit is in the background in a supporting role.

Dark in color, peppery in smell, bold fruit of blackberry and baking spices in taste, this wine is a gem. A very ripe, and yet well balanced, expression of the varietal. It definitely expresses the riper style, but leaves surprisingly little heat on the finish.

This was smack yo mama right off the bat, but given some time and air is really an impressive wine. Big, bold, but not hot or overcooked. Really designed for a pairing with red meat or barbecue.

Although still youthful, the power, depth and sheer palate presence of this wine cannot be denied. Loaded with an assortment of black and blue fruits, predominately spiced plums and ripe blackberries. Not a trace of oak; very good structure. Very long, juicy, fleshy and palate-coating. Impressive Zin that is both muscular yet refined.

Dark garnet/purple color. Nose: crushed blackberry, currant, and fig with accents of baking spices, roses, hot cinnamon candy, mocha, and bay leaf. Full body on the palate: blackberry, currant, and fig framed by black tea, mocha, licorice, peppercorn, bay leaf, and hot cinnamon candy. Medium acidity. Moderate fine-grain tannins. Lingering black tea, bay leaf, and blackberry skin on the long finish. Big and ripe with attractive herb/flower/earth counterpoints. Ideal for char-grilled meats. Drink over the next 4-5 years.
