Honey and green tropical fruit. Thick waxy mouthfeel. Very ripe and soft round fruit. So balanced that it feels almost neutral and simple, but it is actually stuffed with a lot of grape innerskin fruit and mineral. Focused and honest.

Clean and crisp with bright acidity and penetrating minerality and just the barest hint of oak. Delightful as usual and a really versatile food wine with a great qpr.

Pale gold color. Citrus, pears and a hint of vanilla on the nose. Lots of apples , pears, and a bit if citrus on the palate. Nice long finish. A friend (who has been there) says this tastes like what the people in Burgundy regularly drink. Loved it.

Clean, crisp nose of green and tropical fruit, citrus, some oak and a hint of nutmeg, all of which carry through to the palate along with a core of firm minerality. As usual, Bonhomme provides a lot of bang for the buck. The depth and richness here delivers well above its level.

Pale straw fading to nearly clear at the edge. Nose of apples and other green fruit. Apple on the palette with a long finish. Very good. Still learning white burgundies, so I sometimes miss the complexity and initially think them somewhat one dimensional. Maybe the fault of the taster, though.

Light gold color with apple aromas. The flavors crossed from stone fruit to lime with a mineral finish. Balanced and should improve with cellar time although we plan to start in on these with warm weather. Good value for the quality.

shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. vire clesse is hard to find so when this one appeared on the retailer's shelf i could not resist giving it a try. the wine was enjoyable, offering aroma that is unique to macon which i enjoy so much. however, the wine seemed to be holding back. could it be that it is in a dumb phase right now and needs more time in bottle to develop? also, although the flavor profile showed good extraction, the body was lighter than other vire clesse that i have had in the past. may need to give this one another try. will also try the vielle vignes which i will probably enjoy more.

Deep gold, medium mouthfeel. Sulfur coming through both in nose and palate. No acid to speak of. Likely past it’s prime?

well balanced and lots of complexity. only downside is a slight bitter taste in the finish. Otherwise, extraordinary.

Great value for the money. Crisp and easy to drink with just the right amount of acidity. Buy some if you get a chance.

Similar flavor profile to the 2010 with rich green and tropical fruit, earth and minerality, but with a much softer, rounder, more feminine mouthfeel.

Similar notes to last bottle. The fruit was a bit more intense, on both the nose and the palate. This is just what I want from a white Burgundy.

Not as concentrated or long as the previous bottle but still quite enjoyable. Time to drink up the rest.

Andre Bonhomme's Vire Clesses are reliably good white burgundies with a really good qpr. Lighter bodied with good acidity
