Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Vosne-Romanee (Overgaauw Wine Estate): (Tasted Blind): A mid+ garnet towards a gently browning rim. A vibrant nose with warmed plums stewed red and black fruits, and a bit of spicy oak and woodsmoke. A fleshy, svelte and slightly sweet entry with a round mid-palate that feels rather ripe, rich and top-heavy. Full-bodied, there is good fruit intensity and depth despite the fruit feeling stewed (pointing to a warmer year). A good but not top wine, a lively acidity is underneath with some powdery tannins on the finish to provide a little support. Closes with fresh rhubarb and baked raspberries.

Spicy, high pitch cranberry nose. Low-med density; less than what I would expect from this producer, terroir and year. Not nearly resolved, but I have concerns about its future given the “skinny ness” of the fruit. Actually a quite good wine, IMO just not living up to its pedigree. Will hold last bottle for a couple of years hoping it’s just in an awkward/shut down phase.

Pretty closed at the moment, but there is quite some potential. Nose of sweet spices, some cherries, minerals and some smoke. Similar flavors on the palate. It's medium+ bodied snd pretty.dense, with medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin that is silky. Good length. Not very expressive at the moment but really nice texture and balance. I guess with a few more years in bottle this will be even better.

Just a hint of reduction then she's all plush, velvety fruit. It is classic Vosne, plenty of spice, great texture and full of floral nuance. It is deep for its level with plenty more to give.

Very similar to the ordinary Vosne-Romanée Villages - this, however, with time developed a distinct sherry-like oxidized character. Unsure if this bottle was flawed in some way or if it is a general characteristic.

Comfortable yet complex enough. Good wine.

Blind Tasting Burgundies from Well-Known Producers (The Wolf, Oakland): Nice spine but there's a mildly bitter net holding this back. The chunky tannins support a nice density. Could hold but I'm not sure how much better it would be once resolved.

Vosne Millésime - Noblesse des Clos Vougeot - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Château du Clos de Vougeot): Wine tasting. Good spice with boysenberry, black cherry flavors and aromas. Elegant on approach, some power emerging on finish. Very good for Villages level.
