Pretty anonymous. Ripe and new world-ish style of Italian. I must say this felt like a very modern interpretation. It is drinking well however and score points based on deliciousness. Needs some heavy food to match.

2011 Casual Session - 9 @ ES (Extra Space Boon Keng): Alcohol :: 14.5% Served with Riedel O Bordeaux. This is quite a powerful wine with loads of jammy fruits on both nose and palate. Very sweet creme de casiss and black currant fruits that added a bit more depth with its oak, pepper spice and savory meatiness. As the nose suggested, the palate exhibit loads of jammy dark fruits and oak, very rich, with liquid like dark chocolate and grounded coffee bean accompany with vanilla creaminess and sweetness with tannin well integrated, very intense but not much depth, the complexity is pretty surfaced. This is definitely a powerful wine, though slightly heavy. Finish is long too. Drinking well now. Buy - No - Maybe.

the nose displays aromas of fresh shit and blackberry. i like it funky, but this is too distinct for me. palate is tar, black top, black fruit. big tannic structure to this wine. hint of raisination on the finish. nope.

alcohol tobacco black fruit. A heady wine. Dark and brooding. Much more muscular and structured than a CA zin. Could age a few years more in 2009. An incredibly complex wine at this price range.

Italian Tasting (Waterford Wines Milwaukee): rustic, nutty, black liquorice and spicy. wierd chocolate. al-Zabba calls out iron. that's on. there is quite a questionable astringency here. antinori produced.

Sort of astringent - not a whole lot going on fruit-wise. Didn't hate it, though . .it went nice with my sausage pasta. Hopefully I got ripped off for $17 and this wine is really more like $8-10.

Dark. The aroma is pretty wild with over ripe plums, blackberry and a little funk mixed in. Very ripe flavors, and struggles to maintain balance but small dose of tannin at the finish pulls it together. You can taste the baking sun in this one. Its simplicity and power are appealing. Drink now.

nose - dark fruit, coffee, purple ink marker. Quite fragrant mouth - dark fruit, good tannins. Dad thought it tasted like a combination of zinfandel and chianti

Jammy w/ some notes of green pepper (especially on the second day). Tannins are a bit tight on the finish, but the fruit and alcohol balance is nice. Nothing spectacular, but a nice wine.

WIML85. Not that good. Funky nose of brett that never fully blew off even with an hour plus in glass. Tannins were killer up front. Bearable later. Pass.

Definitely on its way out. Not undrinkable, but really not enjoyable either.

In the past I thought the palate was turning but this is better than that. I wouldn't really buy it at $24 though.

Dark fruit, tobacco notes, dry finish with a fairly strong presence of currants.
