Disgorged June 2012. Notes of green apple, biscuit, florals and chalk. Apple and almond on the palate with a nice mineral tone in the finish. Fine bead; balanced. Drinking quite nicely, if on the young side.

Something sticky like tar under the capsule and when the cork was pulled no pop at all and most of the mousse was gone. Having said that the wine was not oxidized and was actually pretty delicious even though it was no longer a sparkling wine

Aromas of apple, mineral and blanched almond, with a hint of fresh ginger underneath. Medium mouse, fine bead. Orchard fruit, custard, mineral and creme brulee flavors. Good underlying acidity. This is in my wheelhouse.

A blend of Chardonnay (80%) and Pinot Noir (20%). Disgorged in April 2012, 12,5% alcohol, dosage 5 g/l.
Pale lemony yellow color. The nose is very developed and toasty with complex aromas of freshly baked, crisp pancakes, cream, some smoke, a little bit of browned butter, a hint of bruised apple and a touch of chalky minerality. Enormously attractive. The wine is very complex, stern and rather full-bodied on the palate with pronounced toasty autolysis and intense flavors of steely minerality, creaminess, ripe and concentrated - even slightly sweet - flavors of dried stone fruits, a little bit of caramel and a dark-toned hint of molasses. The wine is moderately high in acidity with very fine, soft and persistent mousse. The finish is ripe, rich and complex with lengthy flavors of sweet lemon marmalade, candied orange zest, some toasted bread and butter, a little bit of caramel and a mineral hint of chalky bitterness.
A wonderfully developed and complex Premier Cru Champagne that is as voluptuous as the name suggests. In a beautifully toasty and unctuous phase right now, but still retaining wonderfully mineral core and bright acid structure to keep the wine very refreshing and balanced. Most likely the wine will keep for many years - even develop from here - but it really doesn't need any further cellaring. Very lovely, highly recommended.

It expresses well what a champagne with chardonnay as majority as (80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir). Rich nutty and toasty nose with green apple and yeast. Palate is similar to the nose. Medium+ acidity and with toastiness, nuttiness and apple (green apple more upfront and hints of red apple). Medium finish.

Nose: Fragrant and distinctive with warm breads, red apples, yeasty notes, some leesy tones, pears, and some baking spices.
Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium/high acidity. There is excellent balance to the feel with red apples, baking spices, warm breads and some leesy tones.
Overall: This is an excellent Champagne. There is a roundness to it with excellent balance.

Opened by Indybob. The 2nd Geoffroy champagne I've had. The other being the Rosé de Saignée which was of similar quality. Served slightly too warm but it still showed very well. Moderate bead. Notes of peanuts and brioche. 91 points.

Walk-in tasting: Grower Champagne w Terry Theise @ Acker Merrall (Acker Merrall retail store, New York): Very different nose than the others. Yeasty and bubbly, with a very high-toned, sweet and sharp aspect. Candied citrus, sweettarts? Something like that. Really bright and lively on the nose. Plush on the palate with minerals, steel and lemon flavors. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15.5/20.

CHE92+
Powerful perlage, and also aroma and taste, but very harmonic.

Big and busty, best in a Pinot Noir glass. Ready but can go further still.

Very rich and toasty nose, coming into form on the palate - the full bore earthy funk I find at this house with a clean cut and body.

Big and wild, untamed, slightly feral. Something is going on here, but it definitely needs a whole bottle's worth of exploration.

Still a bit young for my taste, this is definitely showing more substance than the Expression, white fruits, firm acidity.
