Fabulous. Drinking beautifully. So smooth and full of life. Deep, candied complex flavors of prunes and dark red fruits. This vintage still has room to develop.

By the glass. Soft and sweet on the nose with elegant aromas of cherries and luxury pastry. Dense and abundant in the mouth with depth, tasty and an extraordinary length. After tasting this 'vintage single estate' I can not wait to open my tawny bottle of Noval of this extraordinary although initially reviled vintage.

Litt vandig kant.
Mørke søte bær på lukt.
Søtt anslag. Mørke søte bær. Søt, uten å være stikkende søt. Velbalansert, søt men ikke før søt, rød frukt men ikke før ung, alkohol men ikke alkoholstikk. Litt alderspreg, men har mange år igjen.
Litt alkohol, men ikke skjemmende.
Drukket over flere dager. En god portvin, som ble bedre og bedre utover uka.

A long wait since I bought this in Portugal. Remarkably young and fresh, enormously complex, with the typical phenolic sweetness, cooked ref berries, spices and herbs. Perfectly structured and balanced. No hurry for the next bottle, perhaps in a decade.

Deep garnet in color with slight bricking edge. Nose of dark chocolate, dark cherries, and hint of menthol. Taste of being cherries, dark chocolate, espresso, and hence a vanilla. This is one of the better bottles i had from this vintage. Still young and filled with ripe fruit. Drink over the next 10-20 years.

2021 FTLOP Harvest Tour; 9/19/2021-10/2/2021 (Portgugal): Blueberry, raspberry, and some herbal notes on the nose. Some nice red fruit and some chocolate notes on the palate. Nice balanced acidity and some noticeable sweetness on the very long finish.

Quinta do Vesuvio Tasting (Sammamish, Washington): The first sniff of the nose revealed some minerality and hints of slate with some blue fruits underneath. The expressive palate shows notes of chocolate and red fruit. There were some dusty tannins on the finish, which falls off just a little shorter than I normally see in this wine. 6 hours decant.

Sammamish Port Club - October 2018 (Sammamish, Washington): Very dark purple-red in color. Subtle nose of dark fruit and some floral notes. Rich, lush mouthfeel with a touch of bitterness giving way to expanding pomegranate flavors. Great, long finish with just a touch of alcohol.

Only 3,000 cases declareded (just 10% of the annual production of this 408 ha vineyard), foot-trodden in the lagares at the Quinta, 20% ABV. Pristine bottle, cork extracted without any difficullty. Dark and sombre colour, just starting to brown at the edges; lovely and lifted nose, violets and toasted spices, cherry liqueur, deep minerality; the palate is satiny and elegant, beautifully balanced, medium-bodied, juicy and fresh with light but grippy tannins, cherry and milk chocolate flavours; lovely length. A civilised but hardly a spectacular vintage port, fully mature but should age well on the strength of its immaculate balance, drink now - 2032+.

A very nice, if not simple, little port. Black fruit nose with some subtle floral notes and trace alcohol. Very smooth on the palate with more fruit. Oerall, very nice; but not complex.

Concentrated nose with dark fruit, mint and dark chocolate. Very smooth, good concentration, fresh fruit, chocolate and tobacco flavours. Soft tannins and a sweet, yummy finish. Not too complex, but an utter joy to drink. We drank this over two days and it was very constant throughout.

Very smooth and well integrated. Alcohol doesn't dominate as much as say the 1994. Great length, sweet and lots of fruit. Almost has the wow factor. Very much my style of VP (perhaps too sweet for some?).

Tasted at the Dow's Port Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia - Awesome nose! Really inviting. Extremely dark color. Extremely young, floral nose. Wonderful, smooth, candied flavor. Fine tannins. 91+ points.

Fairly elegant nose but still very fruit laden, blackberry and apple jam character. Sweet in the mouth but with an appealingly savoury edge. Soft character but good fruit intensity and lovely length. Seems more like a nice, if intense wine, than a vintage port.

Very nice for an old port. Cork was crumbled but straining out cork two times was effective.
