A brief note: mature but very lively with detailed flavors dried orchard fruits, dried flowers and minerals. Rich, ripe and while not exactly dry, quite well balanced. Superb.

Bought at the winery in 2012. Nose suggests an unctuous wine with loads of ripe pineapple, peach and other stone fruits. Palate is much more lithe and medium to lighter bodied than the nose implies. Seems like maybe its lost some "baby fat" over the years. Palate echos the nose with lemony citrus and stony/slatey-ness mixed in. I know it's described as dry but the fruit is ripe enough to give the impression of sweetness. Really delicious.

Tampa Spring Break III; 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Tampa FL): My first time with a finger lakes Riesling and I really liked this. First wine of the day - and hit the right note to warm up the palate prior to the pour to impress "reds only" brunch. Pineapple, lemons and then a flush of mineralogy to finish, bright acid and a hint of sweetness - balanced and lovely.

Popped and poured at fridge temp. Bought this from the producer about a year ago. Very expressive at the moment, lots of white stone fruits, nectarine, with a bit of a lemony twist to it. A touch sweet on the palate, rich, full-bodied, good acidity, lots of peachy fruit, again with a twist of lemon to keep it refreshing. Excellent! And with some more air and good food (fillets of perch, fresh green asparagus and spinach rice), this was exceedingly enjoyable. Lots of peachy goodness.

nose - apple, petrol, rather volatile quite expressive nose. smells like it might bubble mouth - off-dry. loads of green apply, pear. wet stone. my dad, who likes a bone dry riesling was not into this, but i dig it. an amazing finish of honey unlike anything I have ever tried. Recommended to fans of this style of wine.

First tasted at a restaurant in Rochester, I liked it so much that I went to the winery to reacquaint myself with their entire Riesling line-up. Magdalena was planted in 1999 and the site is really blossoming into a gem. The 2011 shows a wonderful nose of stone fruit, lemon zest and white flowers. Concentrated and plush on the palate- great "feel". Peach fruit core, with lime citrus and stony minerality underlying the ripe core. Reminiscent of Zind Humbrecht in style and quality. I will try this side by side with the Rangen 2011 soon. An amazing step up in quality for Finger Lakes!
Color: Light golden yellow Smell: Crushed rocks, peach, apple, and lime Taste: Peach, green apple, and lime with a real mineral presence. Overall: Outstanding. Light bodied, High acidity, vibrant fruits, and a wonderful sense of poise on the palate. The first Finger Lakes wine I think I've had that I want to find again. Lovely.

Tampa Spring Break (the third); 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Various Tampa locations (Seasons 52, Capital Grille, Berns etc.)): This was just so spot on for the way to start the day. Sat new world dinner was a lot of wine and this was just light and fresh and bright. Hint of lemon and honey. Great acidity. A very enjoyable wine.

This goes very well with sushi! I prefer red wines...but this was still a very good wine.
