At HK Club. This was fantastic, sappy, old vine Burgundy. Very much alive and vibrant which improved significantly in the glass after 30 mins. A rare find and exceptional QPR.

So, it looks like 6 out of 9 TN's on CT are flawed bottles: 5 corked, one brett. My bottle was an ex-cellar late release bought 2 months prior to the first CT note that appeared on this wine. That's a pretty bad batch of corks.

Fully mature nose of clove, caramel with decent sweetness and forest floor. Silky and fine in the mouth; perfectly integrated structure. Ends a bit minerally. Very elegant and charming. Good palate length.

This wine started off as very bretty. After an hour in decanter, a lovely mature burgundy with flavors of back cherry mixed with forget floor and mushrooms emerged. The Bret was still a bit overwhelming, but was slowly moving to the background. I would have liked more time, but I couldn't keep the family at dinner any longer. Admittedly, the score is a bit generous based upon an projection of where the wine was going.

Wonderful bottle of vintage Burgundy. Complex with great depth of fruit showing primarily as beams of black cherries. Good length on the palate too. Ready to drink now. Note that it does improve with air. Decant about 30 minutes before serving, or enjoy as it evolves in the glass.

Mildly corked. If this is 1/10th a good as a healthy bottle then I'm in for a treat. Despite the background of fungus and subdued flavors, this wine showed a lot of fruit, some nice aromas, and good length. I'm looking forward to sampling an unaffected bottle.
