Evolved nicely throughout the night. Reduction nose on open with tight acidity filling the palate. The fatness came through after 2 hours in the glass, without being overpowering. Very elegant and drinking really well especially towards the end.

Casual Sunday Dinner?: What a stunning 2011. Sesame reduction upon opening, bodied but incredibly chiseled, a very elegant expression of the terroir. White fruit, flint, gunpowder, intense. Some thinness among the Grand Cru fat body, in a good way. Outshined the two Montrachets with its personality. 95-96

Small plot south of the batards and under the Blanchots, pure limestone and facing south. On the first smell, one immediately feels that it is going to be truly great. A discreet, but ultra-refined nose, typical of Lamy with aromas of limestone chips mixed with citrus fruits and lemon scents; and then the vibration of the liquid limestone takes the mouth, subtly but entirely, a very dense juice yet incredibly refined, and an absolutely extraordinary spherical intensity, a rising entropy that seems endless, what a persistent finish here, this is just brilliant !

La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): In 08/09/10/11/17 vertical. My favorite of the vertical. Brilliant floral start, this was the most attention-grabbing of the vertical, but also showing near perfect balance and great restraint with a complex array of apple and pear on nose and palate. Just entering its drinking window, this should drink brilliantly for at least another decade.

Noticeably richer and weightier than the other whites, but with lovely flavors of lime, jasmine, and some butter notes on the nose. Perfectly balanced with less richness on the palate than the nose suggested and minerally flavors of citrus and green apples. Perfect acidity and a long finish. I preferred the other whites tonight, but this may just need a few more years in the cellar. 94++

Pale, limpid, gentle and delicate. Lovely balance; you don’t taste the alcohol but eventually you feel it. Racy. But not Grand Cru weight or concentration. It seems young. At age 10 though, it should be showing all its charms.

Attractive, though not fully blossomed on the nose, with some creamy oak mixing with its citrus flavors well. Impressive and showy on the palate with clean fruit and great precision, and light to moderate weight. Coats the mouth a bit toward the back, finishing with good energy. Elegant and feminine throughout, and while clearly showing its oak, it wears it exceedingly well. Stunning wine.

MASTER BORGOGNA AIS; 10/15/2013-6/28/2014 (HOTEL WESTIN PALACE MILANO): 0% legno nuovo. 280 bottiglie all' anno! Pura astrazione.
