Surprisingly good, though had low expectations. Solid if unremarkable pinot noir offering round red fruit, smooth and luxurious feel, and medium finish.

I'm thankful for Calera Pinot Noir. Red fruit aromas. Pomegranate palate, light tannin, the high side of medium acid. Waxy red fruit, an earthy grassiness. Suave palate. Drink to 2019. Day 2 drinking more structured and what time from yesterday. Big berry fruit. Medium body. Gorgeous fruit, not too suave.

Earthy floral on the nose, light medium bodied pinot that achieves that rare mix of light and depth. Balanced mid-palate with ripened plum, black cherry, cigar, cola, pomegranate, and a chocolaty signature all swirling with a velvety smooth texture and earthy hue. The finish is intriguing and medium-long with spice, tannins and earthy cream. It's well worth the price from an accomplished pinot winemaker. Will stock up for every day use.

Bought a case two months ago and now only 2 bottles left.
I quite sure my first bottle from the case was badly shocked during transport back to my cellar.
After the wine rest for 3 weeks, it was singing right from the opening, but goes better, thicker after 30 mins in bottle. Strawberry dominant, a lot of berry, hit of apricot.
The 10 bottles I consumed has been very consistent and the lacking part I felt for the first bottle is gone. So I revise the score to 90.
Great QPR indeed!

Clear pale ruby color. Fresh nose of sour cherry, acid, grape skin, some green stems. Dry, light and crisp, with fresh strawberry, tart cherry, soft mineral, and acid. Medium finish, a great entry level pinot.

Tried twice, first time with mushroom Risotto, second time with beef steak.
This wine is young and prefer open 30mins before drinking. Very light, easy going wine. When I'm not feeling too well this is the one that pops into my mind.
On nose you find a lot of berry, some hint of peach. Taste mineral, sweet, most importantly, something lacking, which is why I give it 85.
However once you pair with food the lacking part just gone!! I will give 90+ rating if pair with food. Suddenly upgrade a few levels and can find some trace of the Jensen vineyard.
Bought a case of 12 after tasting first bottle. Solid value and good for casual drinking.

Meant to get the 2009 but once I was upstairs with the 2011 I decided to just open it. Young for sure, but definite fruit forward flavors along with some nice white pepper. A nice touch of acidity lingers on the tongue in the medium finish.

Consistent with September 2013 tasting notes, particularly the mushroom and wet soil. Simple and light bodied. Overpriced for the effort considering this was more $$ than the 2011 Meiomi. The Meiomi is a better wine at a lower cost.

Fruit dominant, but knit together much better than just 6 mo ago. A bit of secondary savory notes and spice. Not terrifically complex but varietaly correct and great QPR. Modest length, medium bodied and medium acid. Rich mouth feel for the $. Calera remains a consistent top entry level pinot and makes the mostly northern Central Coast fruit.

Drank alongside 2006 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Champ-Chevrey. The Calera PN lost the battle on all fronts, perhaps with the exception af that of extraction of fruit. Still a pretty decent Cali-pinot.

Very perfumed nose, medicinal, yet strangely attractive, with heaps of perfumed blueberry and leafy tones. Generous and broad of shoulder, ripe fruit, silky, glycerine richness. Good finish, just a hint of tannin, but clean and with decent length. I expected this to tilt to the overpowering side but it stayed charming and interesting. Nice

On the nose this has mushroom, wet soil, and green pepper notes. On the palate there is a bit of white pepper, raspberry, and the mushroom carries over. There is a good balance of tannin and acidity, though the mid palate is quite flat, and the finish disappears quickly. Not a great showing from Calera, but in light of the challenging harvest conditions, this should come as no surprise. While early to judge, I don't see this as having any measurable improvement with further bottle time. This is a drink up wine. Free up your cellar space IMHO if you are holding this.

Fantastic every-day-er Pinot! Get this locally for $21....it offers plenty of pleasure for the Burgundian palate.....med bodied fresh crushed berry fruit(cherry, red raspberry,plum)...tart skin acidity, crunchy with crushed minerals, fresh cut flowers, smoked cherry wood, truffle, little stem funk. Has a nice freshness and zip to it, as well as some funked up cherry creme and greenness to it. Doesn't really have the heat you usually get in Ca. Pinot......a ringer for a very good Bourgogne, or even a Village..say Nuits-St.Georges? Tasty!

The nose was very pretty with clean, ripe berry fruits picked right from the vine with hints of lavender, wood (like branch) and green stem. On the palate it was smooth yet lean with a rustic feel, showing flavors of cranberry, tart cherry and hints of orange peel. The finish was long, yet drying with palate staining fruit.
I enjoyed this wine quite a bit. It was followed over the course of two hours. It's more compact than past vintages but wins lots of points for it's ability to deliver pure, intense fruit in such a smooth and enjoyable package.

(13.9%) Nicely balanced from the get go. This one is warm, earthy and spiced with bright red fruits and a nice, uplifting touch of vanilla (cola) sweetness on the finish. Straight-forward and enjoyable but with enough intrigue to keep you (interested and) coming back for more. Less fruit-forward than I’m used to from the Central Coast and I like it. At $22 this isn’t a bad choice at all and widely available to boot.

Day 2. Red fruit, pomegranate. Suave texture on the palate. Medium body, medium acid. Acid feels relatively soft in the mix. Just a touch of barrel present on the palate. 10% new French. Red red fruit with a waxy sheen. A little tannic/youthful edge to the palate. Med/- tannin, again perhaps low tannin. Ripe as CA should do, no herb in the palate. More juicy than sappy, but...a little sappy. As this opens up in the glass a darker aspect. Not quite brown sugar, but a little cola express.
