Lean and Green. Bell Pepper, rosemary, green bean, Cedar, Blueberry on the palate. Outside the box for a South American Cab, but why is that bad? It’s nothing amazing, but for $10 for a drinkable Cab with a few years on it, this is an steal if you can appreciate the style for a change of pace. I’m going back to pick a few more.

Lots of obvious upfront blackcurrant action and, er, that's it. The rest is a smooth unctious gloop. Inoffensive sure. But so boring. What's happened to Chilean wine? It used to be great value and really characterful. This is neither.

From 75cl, the nastiest kind of plastic "cork" with an unshielded spongey end. The most appealing feature of this wine is the trademark Los Vascos bright blackcurrant entry. Otherwise it is light/medium bodied, with a decent, finely tannic, texture. Nothing to offend, but not much more. I recall tasting previous vintages which had some cassis action on the nose as well, but this was, alas, not the case here. Possibly tasted better (fresher, more lively) straight after bottling? 83-84P

Si ce vin est à consommer jeune comme il semble l'être et bien il ne nous a apporté que déception, fatigue et lourdeur après un verre seulement, rien de mémorable ! Pour une signature de ce genre et au Chili, il y a bien mieux à glaner.

Hennepin Lake Charity Tasting Event: Typical inexpensive South American cab that tastes thin, herbal and green with a healthy blend in of Carmenere. Not of any interest regardless of cost.

A deeply, deeply average jammy, sour effort with no concentration of fruit at all, that tastes like it costs almost half the money. A supermarket Chilean is hiding behind the label here. Terrible QPR which for something that cost £10 is very bad indeed. 79 points

Pretty good Cabernet for about 8 bucks. Nothing overwhelming, but fairly competent, Chilean style Cabernet. Plenty of dark red color. The nose is slightly green, earthy, evergreen and woody as we would expect from Chile. Most of the flavor is not necessarily fruit but rustic, woodsy cedar and hemlock influence to the black fruit. Gritty little young tannins. Very well balanced. Flavorful but not concentrated. A little short and weak on the finish.

Medium garnet color. Light and fruity with cherry and strawberry on the palate. A touch bitter on the finish. Fairly one dimensional.

Really very enjoyable 7 dollar bottle of cab. Good fruit, good finish. Hint of cedar? Great value.
