Dark purple core with bricking. Big nose of dark red and purple fruits, plus a little vanilla. A little harsh on the mouthfeel and finish, but overall very good. Quite a bit of fine sediment in the bottle, so make sure to stand the bottle up a few days prior to opening.

Perfect Cab. Sauv. expression from this excellent Napa producer. Dark fruit, roasted cocoa nibs, and leather on the front, well-balanced tannins and structure in the middle that perfectly complimented the Argentinian steak and Spanish-style roast at dinner. Medium finish with continuing notes of chocolate and roasted plums and toasted vanillin. drink this 2010 now or within the next 2-3 years, before it starts to decline.

Decanted for about 30 minutes, with some sediment. The nose showed red fruits, along with an herbal element. These followed through on the palate along with soft tannins and nicely balancing acidity. This medium-to-plus bodied wine drank very smooth, with a medium to long finish. Should hold for a couple of years. Had alongside the 2010 Duckhorn Napa Vly Cab. Sauv. and while not quite as good, it does have a much better QPR.

Juicy and delicious, this is entering its prime drinking window. The bouquet displays classic Napa aromas of cassis, cherries, and violets, yet it holds back like it has more to offer. There's a calm eruption of layers, flavors, and textures on the palate. It's melted, concentrated, and long, with the perfect amounts of dark fruit sweetness and savory Umami character. Finishes with a kiss of chocolate. Pure pleasure.

Consistent with previous bottle from 10 months ago. Purple, blackberries, and silky tannins. After 3 hour decant, difference was a softness, with a bit more finesse and a little less punch. Very enjoyable- drink now- I would not wait any longer with this bottle.

currently needs quite a bit of air to open up. An hour to blow off the alcohol, another three to mellow the wood. continued to improve from there. Paired well with rich red meat, a little woody without. hold two more years+ to try again 4/2/16

Lovely purple in the glass with sexy legs. Blackberry on the nose, but my nose could be tricked by the purple color. But no, blackberries present on the palette as well. Nice mouth-coating tannic structure. Enjoyable now, but there is just a touch of roughness that may be sanded off with a year or two more int he bottle.

excellent red that does not overwhelm with too much fruit - just right in terms of medium body, good tannins, and a sophisticated depth of taste - drinking very well now and am going back for more!!!!

Much improved since my last note. Let decant a full 3 hours prior to tasting and it showed. Dark fruits, vanillin, lush tannins. Really showing well right now. Not sure what to do with the last bottle, but I would imagine more time could be even better here.

Not very powerful nor fruity. Lacked the density I've been come to enjoy. Decanted for 1 hour and then consumed over 2. Took half that time to show any fruit. Tannins subsided after 1.75hrs but still tight. Notes written on last glass. Nose of oak...that's it. 2 more to go and they will wait for something to happen. Hopefully.

Seymour Wine Club Meeting 11/15/14 (Home of the Slywka's): Tasted blind. A very strange bottle of wine. Upon initial tasting, this was my favorite bottle of the night. Aromas of black cherry, game, herb and mint. This wine was very big in the mouth with flavors of currant, blackberry, dusty berry and mocha on the long finish. I guessed Napa and I was right. Upon tasting this again, BOOM, corked. And not even trying to hide it since it was apparent on both the nose and on the palate.

Concentrated garnet color Nose dominated by a sense of earth/slate mineral notes. Black cherry fruit, restrained use of overt oak yet very structured. High end wine with finesse

I've started drinking my Cabs with a Sommelier glass, I like to decant the bottle for an hour or so, then cover the opening of the decanter with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for around 20 minutes. This seems to really help the wine open up.

Black fruits, touch of mint and oddly slight whiskey barrel, maybe just oak.integrated tannins. Drink over the next couple of years.

Last bottle. Of course this one was the best as it had a few years to come together. Medium body, tannins still sharp.
