Very nice. Ruby/Garnet in color. Moderately opaque. Nose is heavily perfumed but overlayed with earth and coffee tones. Alcohol is intense on this and needs to blow off a bit I think. Alcohol is powerful on the nose right out of the bottle. Hints of toffee. Red Raspberry and black cherry on the palate. Hints of earth and spice wrapped in saddle leather. Hot. Moderate tannins but a bit higher on acidity. Wine balances well and has a strong finish of balance deep fruit rolling against dry sand. Very solid wine and value.

Packs a punch, both in flavor and ABV. Plummy, blackberry nose with hints of vanilla, clove and chocolate...but the alcohol is overpowering, masking the subtleties that can be had from these varietals. I wanted to like this, but it's simply too overbearing.

A very pricewordy wine from Janasse, seems that each year is working good. Fantastic fruitiness with smooth tannins and a very complex structure that works perfect with a real good stake, lamb or game, but this time we had a cheese plate with Taleggio, Brie and Appfentzeller, Excellent!

Deep ruby. More cherry and red currants this time, black berries further back. Seems to be settling down a bit more. Still a big rich wine with high alcohol. More complexity starting to show. Some meatiness, some warm spiciness. Good length. Great value. Does require food though.

Ripe cherry liqueur. Plenty dark fruits. Classic CdR. Some meat and leather. Lovely ripe tannins, decent acidity. Good length. Great with food, alone the high alcohol overpowers a bit. But very good and great value. Definitely a big wine though! First bottle, no rush.

Doft av röda solmogna körsbär, plommon och vanilj. Silkig smak med välintegrerade tanniner. Solmogna körsbär, hallon, blommor och blåbär. Lite vanilj. Viss alkoholvärme på slutet. Medelfyllig lättdrucket och lättgillat fruktdriven. Inte mycket djup men gott och trevligt.

There is a nice bright fruit forward nose with cherries, and vanilla. The pallet is dark and brooding showing coffee, bakers chocolate, pepper. There is syrupy cherry and blueberry with some acidity to brighten. Nicely polished tannins.
I should have properly decanted this bottle so I will reserve official judgement for the next bottle. Otherwise it would have scored an 88

Dark color; nose is very ripe, that could be mistaken for Dry Creek Zin. A bit of the same on the palate. I'm picking up some heat on the tail end of the finish (not a huge problem). The fruit is coming off as almost syrupy - it's tasty, but not what I'd expect from a CdR. Balanced overall except for a touch of the heat, and tasty overall.

A wonderful nose full of clean and ripe Grenache fruit. Adjoined by kirsch, morellos and soft sage, this wine is a great pleasure as always. As with quite a few of the 2011 wines I have tasted this effort is a bit light on its feet, but still somewhere between medium- and full-bodied. The palate is exquisitely balanced and contains no hard edges. There are however some tannin at the backend of the palate. A very nice effort which is a true pleasure to drink right now. There is no reason to cellar - the primary fruit is just too adorable to resist!

Parkerisation in a bottle. Is it a good wine? Yes. Is it a good Cotes-du-Rhone? No. Saturated purple, displaying a sweet, oak-infused nose with bramble fruit, vanilla, lactic overtones, and some beef blood. Thick and viscous on the palate, monolithic, a big chunk of fruit, no light or shade, just a syrup of young ripe fruit and alcohol. Finishes cleanly, no spikes, but no complexity either. 1/3 of Syrah / Gren / Mourv each. You can just about make out the Syrah and there's the herby beef blood of the Mourvedre present. No sign of the Grenache. No sign of the garrigue. Drinks like a blackberry milkshake topped up with brandy.

Mixed wines with Munskänkarna (Stockholm): Powerful nose with blackberries, plum compote, some berry liqueur of dark and red berries, some spice, some volatile acidity (but not really disturbing). Quite concentrated, blackberries, cherries, dark plums, somewhat noticeable alcohol, sweetness of fruit, spice, well embedded medium tannins. Rather Zinfandel-like in style but pleasant, drink now, 89 p. Rather much wine for its level, but more for those who like fortified wines and liqueurs than those who prefer a red wine with a firm and classical profile. Label says 15.0% alcohol; 1-2% less alcohol wouldn't really have hurted.

The nose showed an intense mix of black cherry, ripe fig, sweet spice and crushed fall leaves, with a beautiful freshness that kept it from going over the top. On the palate, it showed sweet dark fruits on the first pour, yet never became cloying as it leveled out with time in the glass, gaining richness, and revealing dark earth tones with plum and medicinal cherry. This wine's intense fruit slowly melted away through the finish, lasting an easy minute. It may be a full throttle style of wine--but I like it.

Smooth succulent fruit of ripe raspberry, strawberry with some cherry intermingled, this has a sweet alcoholic entry, ripe smooth tannins, and low acidity. This is a smooth aloholic wine, with little structure, lacking freshness and a bit hollow in mid palate. Throwing strong deposit already, this is obviously unfiltered and well made. But I find it is ultimately unbalanced and lacking grip and complexity to sustain any interest.
