2nd time I have had this wine. 30 year old vines with a mix of Pommard, Dijon 114 and Dijon 777 clones. 625 cases produced. Not decanted. Drinking very well at 10 years old and no signs of fading. 2012 was an excellent year in Oregon which produced long lived Pinot. The only previous Cannary Hill that I had was the 2000. This 2012 was better. Notes of black cherries, baking spices and pomegranate. Fuller body with a rich texture. 92 points.

I opened a 12 Guadalupe and Shea from the same producer, Day 2 showed best for both but I was underwhelmed to say the least. But this! I popped and poured, very earthy and a lot of secondary and tertiary flavors. Fruit has faded in the best way possible. Glad I have another!

Drink up... raisiny, pomegranate, cranberry, very red fruited. Acid low to mid. Probably requires a meal to drink at best. Abc is mid 13, but feels more higher. Actual abv on label is 12.5% so basically fruit has faded faster than the alcohol. If you like 13.8-14% abv, this Pinot is for you. (375 ml size)

Good and consistent; not much development. Very ripe fruit with some baking spice, and a bit of earth and floral notes. The palate is rich and ripe, definitely new world pinot, but has pretty good balance and is quite enjoyable to drink. Should continue to develop well for at least 5-7 years.

This is still quite young, but tasty. The nose is still very primary with ripe fruit, spice, and some floral notes. Hasn't really changed much, but still has lots of potential. The palate has good concentration and this should age nicely for another decade.

This was my 5th bottle of 6 purchased 11/13. This wine never developed, lacked fruit and failed to open up into a KW classic. I don't know why my experiences vary so greatly from other tasting notes. With one bottle left, I'll try again in six months.

Consumed from a 375 mL. Deep ruby color. Complex and expressive nose of plum, black raspberries, and dried flowers with hints of potting soil and pine. Full flavored on the palate with concentrated dark fruit and nice structure but only 12.5% alcohol.

Small bottle at lunch in New Orleans. Quick trip for my niece's wedding. Wine is light garnet red. Translucent. Nose of strawberries, raspberries and notes of black pepper. Light to medium bodied. Taste is similar to nose with a nice balance of tannins and acidity. Some residual sweetness on the finish. Easy drinking and paired well with seafood gumbo. Good but I liked the gumbo better, but then again I do love a good gumbo!

Cheerful. Began as sunny red and black fruit, sunny earth and black rocks in a compact, light pinot, and opened up over two more days to show defined strawberry, tomato, maple, and ginger spice. Bright and pleasant, with good acid structure for table, too. Very nice.

Really good, classic Eola pinot. The nose is reserved initially with lots of spice and underbrush, but with air there is a lot of red berry fruit and even a hint of lilac. The palate is nicely focused with lovely fruit and spice. This is well balanced and seems to have loads of life and development ahead.

A great pinot noir nose of cranberry, stinky/fresh earth, a hint of caramel, blackberry, and dried crushed flowers.
On the palate, I love the light texture but full body. Great acidity and freshness of red fruit--pomegranate and cranberry. The red fruit transitions to an oak-laced mid palate on to a herb-y and underripe blackberry finish. Really lovely.

More reserved than the 2012 Abbott Claim Vineyard offering, and imparting an impression of youth. Though certainly pretty, the bouquet offers rustic, sous-bois and mineral-driven notes reminiscent of Burgundy. Bracing mid palate, excellent texture, medium plus acid, very long. This needs several years to reveal its finest qualities. Recommend holding until 2018 plus, and drink through 2028. Very nice! 92-93.

This wine was very structured with intense berry flavors. The nose yielded scents of minerals and wild cherries. The taste was concentrated with flavors of tart cherries, plum and minerally rock.

This is really a lovely wine. In a warm vintage where many WV Pinots are pushing the ripeness a little too much, this wine is balanced, elegant, and yet still with loads of flavor and fruit. The nose is filled with red fruits and some of the classic Eola spice. The palate is delicious with lots of fruit and a mouthwatering sanguine finish that leaves you wanting another sip. Very well done.

Reveals surprising alcohol on the nose for a 12.5% wine. But then the bright fruit gets tart, thin, and clipped.

Dust/musty character at first, then opened up to a soft cranberry/cherry profile; ALL FRUIT.

Raspberry, quite a bit oak, reasonably full on the mid palate, not a lot of acid on the finish but very enjoyable none the less
