This robust Lirac is still showing nicely, although it is perhaps a bit beyond its peak. Ripe red and black fruits are front-and-center here, without much development of secondary flavors. Full-bodied and still showing its tannic frame. Slightly hot. Time to finish these bottles up.

PnP. Solid Lirac. Not quite what we experienced on the last bottle, but then we drank this immediately after opening. Still, much better initial impression than the last time out.

This wine has finally entered a really settled and pleasing drinking window just as my supply is exhausted. Balanced and mid weight with good fruit. Nothing exceptional but most enjoyable with tajine

Not as good as I would have expected. Nothing distinguishing. Rated 87
May 13th. We opened this bottle two weeks ago, with the above review. Actually, that was generous. We were at a dinner party and the wine was too sour and too tannic. I had opened and poured a glass to try, and decided to gas it, and recork. Today, we opened it again -- a totally different experience. The wine had integrated, and the tannins had mellowed. Dark fruit on the nose; dark berries and a hint of leather on the palate.
This is a full bodied, intensive, delightful wine. A full-throated syrah. Just be sure to give it enough time to open. Actually the back of the bottle suggests an hour decant before drinking. Upgraded to 91-92.

Okay, here we are a year later. What a difference. Not going to win big awards, but for the $$, pretty good. Not the depth I expect from Syrah, (I think this Languedoc so there should be some muscle there) yet great nose, integrating fruit (good) and balance introduces. Gorgeous in the glass and acidic cut on taste. If I did not trash the juvenile delinquent in the bottle last year, I would totally endorse, but what a miscreant it was. Now, like me, growing up into a good citizen, glad I have a few more, we will see in a year. +++

So very deeply disappointed in all these Duseigneur wines purchased from Rimmerman; one of only two or three great fails over the years. This wine greets you with a painfully generic red wine bouquet, and even after hours open seems to have no distinction whatsoever. Saw some reviews here that made me think perhaps I'd sat on this ugly duckling long enough, but no; and ultimately, I'm glad to have it out of my wine fridge.

This is drinking very nicely. Open nose showing red fruits, black licorice, violets, and a touch of alcoholic heat. Feminine palate, with fine tannins and good acid balance. Flavors of cherry and currant, with a hint of pepper and spice. Finish is slightly short. At its peak.

Shiaxonna. (Great handle, btw) summed this up well a lot of fruit, but a little thin. That hits it perfectly.. I have the siblings, Antares and Odyssee too.
I have a combined case of these too. Doesn't it really suck when you make an odd decision? Maybe I am looking for company, bc, misery loves company. These. So far, are the three stooges (ok the three blind mice) of wine. Exceedingly average, uninspired and seemingly, without thought.
Yes there was some fruit, leaning blueberry, there was some acid, there was no backbone.
Really just unexpressive or a chemical train wreck. What do I do with remaining bottles? All suggestions honored...
Reasonably light in color and structure for a Syrah. Fairly strong raspberry scents coming through. A little harsh initially but mellowed as the air reached the glass.

Decanted for just over an hour before tasting. Opaque purple core, pink rim. Smoky black fruit, saline minerality, vanilla and spices on the nose and palate. Rich and sweet, but has enough supporting structure to ensure good balance. Perhaps a touch heavy on the oak, but this is still pretty impressive stuff and a downright steal at just above $30. Drinking superbly already, but might well improve further over the next two to three years (90-91 points).

Very good dark fruit aromas to start, with blackberry and blueberry and plenty of freshly ground black pepper and Herbs de Provence. Identical on palate with an old school elegance and simplicity I adore. An excellent $20 bottle of wine.

I was really looking forward to this after reading the reviews. My bottle didn't have any "plush" or "bright fruit" and certainly no blackberry. My drinking experience seemed to mirror CADBY's review. perhaps my bottle was mildly corked...

(Tasted at the Ozzy Smack Down - a veritable sludge fest!)
Youngish Syrah still that has minerals, fruits and tannins all trying to fight it out instead of working together. A few hours in the decanter helped the various warring factions come to some kind of mutual accommodation and the wine tasted much better after the treaty was signed.

Just delicious, just delicious. I won't go through all the formal tasting regimen. I tasted 1st on 1/14/2014 with my 2nd tasting on 1/19/14. Ordered 6 more bottles. JUST DELICIOUS - good fruit and wood on the nose and good fruit on the palate. Great QPR for a quality wine. A non-CDR from Lirac, ergo 100% syrah.

Herbs de Provence, blackberry, blueberry, red cherry, excellent freshness, purity, balance, elegance with floral notes, int of anise, tangy fruity finish. Good dusty grip, pepper, good acidity, complex. 100% Syrah, P. Gambie consulting, 90% concrete, 10% oak. Perfect balance and expression, opposite of his Gambie's own wines. Surprised to see 92 RP.

The label reads "100% Syrah" so "Rhône 'blend'" is a mis-classification...or is it? I swear I taste a touch of Grenache. Or maybe is it simply that pure Syrah expresses itself differently from the Northern Rhône in sunny Lirac, surrounded by sunflower fields, wild garrigue, white rock hills and lavender (and just a few kilometers from luscious Tavel and venerable Châteauneuf-du-Pape). Anyway, I don't usually cotton to the peppery sear of Syrah, and I loved the touch of plushness here. I don't care if it's due to sunny climate or undisclosed blending, I like it.

Very nice at first, lots of brambly notes, light spice, blue fruits, a bit dusty with a nice presence and good acidity. Score suffers a bit as it falls apart after a few hours, but very good prior to that.

Brambles, plum, black pepper and some liquorice at the nose. Concentrated on the palate, big in terms of fruit as well as in terms of acidity (even some prickly CO2). Medium to full-bodied with firm but chewy tannins towards the finish. The finish is defined by lots of tannins and spicy notes but the fruit is somewhat missing there. Big layers of complexity underneath the fruit, great potential. Better to wait some more years.
