Black raspberry and brambly boysenberry fruit, a mild and pleasant herbaceousness and interesting secondary development underway with hints of roasted meat. A delightfully new world take on Tempier. Ignore the drink dates shown here--this wine's not yet at peak. No sediment but a one-hour decant helpful for popping the flavors.

Served as one of the red wine choices with a crown roast of pork. It became apparent to me that I served this wine too cold and that I should have decanted it. As it warmed in the glass, it opened nicely both nose and flavor wise. Martin Redmond's 11/11/14 review summarizes our experience with it once warmed and opened up.

lots of black berry fruit, sour cherry, crushed stone, black pepper. some peat and hay adds interest to the flavor profile. tannins are a bit light and the profile goes juicy on midpalate. nice finish.

Deep ruby color with cherry, blackberry, black raspberry and hints of tobacco, earth and spice aromas. On the palate its between light and medium-bodied, elegant and harmonious with concentrated fruit, very good acidity and soft well integrated tannins with a supple texture and black raspberry, cherry and a pleasing minerality. Lingering finish. Cool climate Moved? Yes!

1-1/2 hr decant. Bold spicy nose with plenty of red and black fruits and a little earthy funk. The black fruit is plenty big ( and delicious) on the palate but still feels fresh and focused with black pepper and baking spice notes. Really drank well with some marinated pork loin.

Poured a little in the glass…screwed the cap back on, then did the "shake weight" on this sucker! Needs time to open…..but when it does…you get some pretty tasty Mourved here! Dark red berry fruit, with a nice mix of skin sours and earth. More laser beam in style, not heavy or rich….I really like the forest floor briery character here….branches, sap, bark…..some cinnamon/deep woods/menthol spice….tobacco wrapper, dried berries. Slight heat…seems like a few years will do it well…..I really like this wine…something a little diff….balanced and tasty stuff here….will need to get more of this!

No decant, drank over 2 nights. Very pleasant night one. A tad thin in terms of mouthfeel, but nice. Was a tad tart for my taste night 2; refrigerated overnight.

Twist and pour ... A little thin and muted when first popped, gained some depth as the night wore on, but never got too much from the nose. Crisp, rather than bold, and lighter than I expected from a Mourvedre. Floral notes to balance a fresh strawberry fruit and dry finish. Very little oak.
Good, but next time I'll take other taster's advice and try a decant first.
Nice easy drinking wine. As mentioned earlier, this is not a Pnp. Needs some time to open up in the glass and develop some character. As it does, the acidic flavor dies down and I get plum, raisins, more dried fruits. A nice earthy/toasty/richness to the wine. This punches way above it's price point. Going to try to save the rest of the bottle to see how it goes on a second day.

After a few hours open, this has a distinctive nose of fruit, minerals, and spices. Fresh fruit and bright acids on the palate, with a pleasing mineral aspect keeping things interesting. Lovely texture. Nice long finish. Delicious. This is my first Tercero; very glad I have 11 more in the cellar.

PnP. Bright nose of dark fruits, black pepper, turned earth and spice. Medium body with plenty of acid, dark cherry, blackberry, pepper, and earth notes. The fruit on the palate comes across really fresh with a long enjoyable finish.

Tasted over 2 days - showed lots of edgy acidity on the unscrew 'n pour, so I let it go for the next day. Glad I did. Again, this showed abundant dark fruit with a lot of earthy tones, and the lifting acidity gave it freshness. Intriguing and delicious red.

I didn't think the 2009 Mourvedre could be topped, but this was right there. Great dark fruit flavors, pleasing texture and weight, excellent balance. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Went incredibly well with crock-pot cooked pork loin with gravy and roasted potatoes.

Tercero Dinner - Now we're all uncomfortable (FMIII in the OC): No single vineyard Mourvèdre but that's OK because you get the best of both Larner and Camp 4 now in a single bottling. I believe this was just bottled a few weeks ago and it's showing as a favorite already. That's promising for the future of this wine.

Tercero Dinner in the OC with Larry Schaffer (My House In The South OC): This is 50% Larner and 50% Camp 4. I found this superior to the 2006 and 2007 we tasted alongside it. The 2010 shows a nice tang/spicy quality. Cherry and leather and a soily/loamy noe in the finish. I enjoyed this.
