Very good but not exceptional. Impressive lasting this long. No oxidative notes. Not a lot of slate and oyster shell character, but really good mouth feel. Not screaming Chablis but tastes pretty good. Really good but doesn’t blow me away.

This wine is unimpressive on its own and especially for the property. Lean, one dimensional, no development on the palate. I have had premier cru wines from this producer that were much better. People may be 'drinking the label' here. My lady agreed with me and she has a good palate. Won't serve my last bottle to company again. :-(

It's been 4 1/2 years since our previous bottle of this wine and it has not lost a step (nor gained one). PnP, chilled. The color was a clear medium yellow. The medium bodied palate showed green apple, lemon, hefty minerality and a touch of spice. The acidity was juicy but balancing. The wine may continue to hold. A satisfying and enjoyable Grand Cru Chablis but without any wow factor, or distinctly memorable trait.

Peaches, lemon, mineral springs, congealed honey; pure and intense, relatively elegant, linear with a subtle layering and a gradual fading moderately long finish

Tasted together with W. Fevre Vaudesir, Chr Moreau les Clos and Louis Michel les Forets, all from the same vintage. This is clearly the weakest of the grand crus in the mini-tasting, but it is still a good wine. Golden colour, but not oxidyzed at all. Nose dominated by ripe red apples, some lemon, a bit of oiled steel and a tone reminiscent of hay. Medium to full bodied, very nice acidity lifting the taste into something like green apples and lime with a touch of oil and steel. After a while, the wine wanes a bit in the glass, and presents itself like a rather unidimensional wine without much touch of GC Chablis. Competent, good wine, butr without excitement.

One of my first encounters with people engaged in Chablis was the word how good Grenouilles from the Chablisienne cooperative was. So I started bying some bottles, starting with the 05 vintage, then on to 06, the 08 and to this, the 10. All of them has been, how shall I put it, unimpressing. So is this. Clean straw yellow eith green hints at the rim. Nice, but toned down nose of green apples, some lime, and an oaky vanilla tone. Pleasant, but lacking the mineral tones I expect from a grand cru, and especially this vineyard. Medium to full bodied, round and buttery in the mouth. Toned down taste of apples (undefined) and lime as well as some vanilla. Fine acidity, forgettable. This is just on the level of good village wines from other producers, indeed, from Chablisienne themselves. Is it something here I don't get? I don't think so.

A very very good bottle. Meyer lemons, apple, white peaches, white flowers, the entire family of citrus, buttery without oak, just rich crisp and deep rich wine. Long finish. A stellar bottle!!!

Great vineyard, great wine. Every single time I open a Chablisienne Grenouilles, I think "why don't I buy this more often?". Full of crisp saline and limestone with Chablis typicality, but perhaps with a bit more extract than all but a dense GC. I sensed and equal mix of white orchard fruit and citrus, balanced with the requisite acidity. For the price, I don't know many that do better. Except Louis Michel.

A classic Chablis grand Cru. The nose out punches the palate. Fresh, punchy, citrusy and clean nose. Like a sweet green kiwi out of the fridge. Medium plus body that gives it heft. Finish is commendable. Excellent grand cru value. Drink at 12 degrees celcius.

Opened after two disappointing and slightly oxidized 2008 from the same producer and same vineyard. This is more promising already from the point it is poured: brilliant light yellow with hints of green. Classic aromas of chalk, citrus, lime, green apples, as well as some oaky tones (butter and smoke). Full bodied, smooth in the mouth, very good acidity, but surprisingly uncomplicated. The total impression is that of a round, almost sweet and a somewhat monotone wine. OK length. but again unimpressing. This will probably not get better, so drink up, preferably not with too flavourful food.

PnP, chilled. A medium to plus bodied (second tier) GC Chablis, with plenty of minerality, lemon crème, and juicy acidity. Good QPR at $42. Drinking reasonably well now, may improve, but should last a good 5 years.

Nose has light touch of fruit (apples, citrus) and quite noticeable oyster-shell minerality. Palate is fairly light weight with mouth-watering acidity and fruit. Very fresh and lively with likely future development possible.

Consistent with my note from January. I really should have kept my hands off of this bottle as it needs time. Showing a lot of structure but not a lot of depth at this stage.

I've been loving the La Chablisienne Frog since the '05 vintage. Alway a steal for this spectacular GC vineyard. The '10 has impressive density, balanced by ample cut and salinity. Equal parts citrus and orchard fruits. This has years of joy to deliver; I drank it over 7 days, keeping the unfinished portions in the refrigerator without any decline.

Taste: Medium bodied with high acidity. The acidity has a sharpness to it, but it isn't too much along with pears, white fruits, floral tones, vanilla beans, and an underlying minerality.
Overall: I guessed this as an 11 Puligny-Montrachet. The lighter color should've been a hint towards Chablis, but either way, I'm rather happy that I was at least able to nail the grape and general region blind.

New Year's Day 2013 Cali Pinot Blind Tasting: Pop n' pour. Medium nose is a bit one dimensional with ripe-ish (for a Chablis anyway) green apple fruit with a suggestion of minerals. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with seashells, rain water and green apple. Bright with plenty of minerality and acidity. Young with upside.

Blind 2013 California Pinots (Chicago, IL): Served blind. I thought the nose was showing a bit too much fruit and spice, so I was pretty convinced it was chardonnay from the new world. But the dense white fruit and acids should have turned me back to France, and in hindsight, this should have been an easy 2010 call. A really powerful chablis, with a fair bit of oomph. Very good.
