Well this wine is certainly in its drinking window with many years to go. It has a beautiful red color with an amber rim. Lots of scents of garrique and blue fruits on the nose. It is rich and intense with dark red fruits, dark chocolate, garrique, velvety tannins, and minerality. It is full and round on the palate.

Pristine bottle, directly from the Dutch importer, perfect level and cork. Mature but fresh, elegant and intense, deep smoky minerality, beautifully balanced, crushed red fruit, flowers and spicy red meat, hint of forest floor; big (15% ABV) but gentle palate, firm but velvety tannins; impressive finish. Showing very well, lovely harmony, on its plateau of maturity, at least another 10 years to go. At wine bar Oocker, Amsterdam, NL.

I am trying this wine again on Christmas! It’s very nice with a lovely crimson to light red color and orange rim. Good nose of dark red fruit and garrique, a hint what is waiting for you in the glass. The wine is at the beginning of its drinking window, but quite ready for enjoyment with the tannins mostly resolved.
On the palate, there are dark red fruits, including blueberries and blackberries, plus earthiness, very savory with a full mouthfeel. Lots of minerality and garrique. It is very complex and complete.

Drank next to 2011 Migoua. In this context the Tourting was tight, linear yet an appealing structure. Served with Cassoulet and several people, including myself, thought it more flattering with the dish. As I said a much more staid Bandol; decidedly more expressive of mourvedre.

Well, hey, this is open for business especially with food. We had a grilled flatiron steak which was great with this wine! Now for the notes:
This bottle was decanted about four hours ago and we are sipping the last drops. It has a nice bouquet and lots of dark red fruits, garrique, forest floor, minerals, some good tannins yet and a medium finish. It is a very nice wine, but has a long future.

Decanted, because tannines are slightly green. Beautiful nose, blackberries. After one hour integrated tannines. Beautiful full fruit and complex. Next day not improved. Needs more time. Next better not before 2022.

Plenty life left, tannins obviously present but sufficiently integrated. Warm wine typical for southern areas in France. second day still very much alive but no real changes.

A smooth, slightly modernized version of Bandol certainly, but I love it for it's rich, generous fruit and it's complete (almost massive) presence and it's sweet Southern fruit and spice. This was decanted an hour - certainly needed that. Will improve, will go en years more, easily. #Restaurationen

smoky nose, with something a bit like coal dust here SO ripe on the palate, lots of dark fruit and liquorice, dense and concentrated but fragrant too, so fresh, lots of herbs Very good,

FW-BYOB-HT#1: ¤FW - Tough to be the heavy wine in a flight of mostly elegant wines. Very fruity nose, blackcurrant, plums, sweet cherries, smoky tar, sun dried grapes, beer and lemon. Sweetish fruit on the palate, lower acidity, high intensity and great length. High quality wine but this is just not my style.

93+ pts

a little too closed and intense the first 2 days...but last day, pretty amazing, with linearity and focus...tried this along with the 2011 la migoua and the regular bottle...all had amazing roundedness and layers and layers of soft crayon, paper mache texure....with the regular bottle the standout in terms of flavor, balance, depth and drinkability....this one was the biggest with the most longevity

Inky dark - taut crushed pumice and dark chocolate. Tarry / herbal / garrigue notes.. Needs some time to loosen up in the glass, classic Bandol!

Really solid, more so for ‘11. Decanted for an hour which should have been longer. Again a treat.

Dark fruits, firm, smooth, drinking but not yet at full maturity. At this point, well behind La Miguoa. Cellared since original release.
Add on edit -- a tapenade note in nose and mouth that appears on the second day adds a point to the score.

Grote wijn, dik rood fruit, tannines mogen nog zachter. Wordt over 5 jaar veel beter, denk ik, i.e. zachter, vrouwelijker.

Tourtine '09-'11 vertical: More silky and lean next to the 09 and 10, with herbal notes (in a good way), brighter minerals to the cherry, etc...
