  • Well this wine is certainly in its drinking window with many years to go. It has a beautiful red color with an amber rim. Lots of scents of garrique and blue fruits on the nose. It is rich and intense with dark red fruits, dark chocolate, garrique, velvety tannins, and minerality. It is full and round on the palate.

  • Inky dark - taut crushed pumice and dark chocolate. Tarry / herbal / garrigue notes.. Needs some time to loosen up in the glass, classic Bandol!

  • Pristine bottle, directly from the Dutch importer, perfect level and cork. Mature but fresh, elegant and intense, deep smoky minerality, beautifully balanced, crushed red fruit, flowers and spicy red meat, hint of forest floor; big (15% ABV) but gentle palate, firm but velvety tannins; impressive finish. Showing very well, lovely harmony, on its plateau of maturity, at least another 10 years to go. At wine bar Oocker, Amsterdam, NL.

  • I am trying this wine again on Christmas! It’s very nice with a lovely crimson to light red color and orange rim. Good nose of dark red fruit and garrique, a hint what is waiting for you in the glass. The wine is at the beginning of its drinking window, but quite ready for enjoyment with the tannins mostly resolved.

On the palate, there are dark red fruits, including blueberries and blackberries, plus earthiness, very savory with a full mouthfeel. Lots of minerality and garrique. It is very complex and complete.

  • Drank next to 2011 Migoua. In this context the Tourting was tight, linear yet an appealing structure. Served with Cassoulet and several people, including myself, thought it more flattering with the dish. As I said a much more staid Bandol; decidedly more expressive of mourvedre.
