Opened by Allred who together with LostVerse are fans of this winery. As a result they have opened about 11 Pinot Noirs for me over the years including the 2010 and 2012 Oehlman. I tried this on day 2. Notes of cranberry and licorice with a fine minerality. Some smokiness on the finish. Softer tannins. I would drink this soon if you have any. 90 points.

Our penultimate bottle, popped and poured. Here again, this definitely shows some age with a faded ruby color and bricking. Aromas of black cherry and rose, with orange and spice notes as well. Balanced. This is typically my favorite of the WesMar lineup- it's always so elegant and balanced. Plenty of fruit remains on the palate. Wild strawberry and nutmeg qualities emerged as the night wore on. Lovely. 92+ pts and again, at peak for my palate.

My favorite Wesmar vineyard, courtesy of m/m tlv. Cherry, rose petal and cranberry notes. Cherry and rose water flavors with a long finish. Light and elegant- beautiful. Ready to go. 93+ pts.

Dinner at Anvil with Allred and our spouses. Nose is that typical WesMar cherry, floral and spice that I've come to love. Very elegant and feminine, with a bevy of red fruits on the palate with some orange zest as well. The last bottle suffered from bottle variation, but this one is back to the norm. Beautiful.

This has gained some weight since the last tasting a year and a half ago. Simply outstanding. Personally, these WesMar '11s are blowing me away. Not as heavy or rich as say an '09 or '12, but they have an elegance all their own.

Opened for CWM tasting at Briciola. Nose was typical Oehlman, but the palate was lacking in this bottle. Still lovely, but a step behind others previously opened.

CWM does CA Pinot (Briciola, Chicago): Typically my favorite of the WesMar pinots, this bottle fell a bit short tonight. Lovely bouquet with cherry, spice and floral notes. Cherry dominates the palate, as does the acid, to the point having a sourness on the finish.

Just wonderful. All of the previous tasters are correct. A feminine style pinot that's surprisingly ready to drink. My favorite in the lineup. 93 solid.

A delicious first bottle of the 2011 Wes Mar vintage. Delicious red fruit, delivered in a seamless and silky package. Wonderful aromatics and lovely mouth feel hint what is to come from the rest of the vintage. Great effort!

Popped & poured with dinner as we read through the Fall 2014 newsletter that arrived in the mailbox. Notes of black cherry and cola with black tea and mineral undertones. Flavors of orange zest, cherry, clay, strawberry and mineral with a subtle rhubarb quality on the back end. Medium-bodied and impeccably balanced, with beautiful fruit and acidity- an elegant, feminine wine. A wonderful match for rabbit confit and orecchiette.

Tasted at winery with Denise. Always one of the more feminine wines in the WM lineup - this did not disappoint. Bright cherries with a bit of strawberry thrown in. Floral notes on the nose as well. Delicious as always.

Saturday in Sonoma: WesMar (WesMar): Light ruby color with aromas of cherry and cranberry with perfumed floral overtones. Very pretty. The palate follows the bouquet featuring red fruit and floral tones. Very feminine and elegant, with good acidity underneath and a long, lingering finish. 92-93 pts.

First of the '11 Oehlman bottles. Exquisite nose of cherry/strawberry with floral undertones. Red fruits and cinnamon/nutmeg/baking spices on the palate. Very elegant and feminine in a beautiful way. Just gorgeous. Beautiful now, but a year or so may do wonders.

Pop and pour, consumed over 4 hours. Nose: Expressive scents of black cherry, sweet ice tea, and cola with intriguing spice and pine undertones. Palate: Medium bodied, black cherry and ice tea attack, flavors build intensity thru the mid-palate where a nice acidic back-bone appears to balance out the sweet attack. Finish: Lengthy sense of spicy ice tea and cherry. Yet another outstanding effort by Denise and Kirk at WesMar.
