Young...dark...thick rich in the Kosta Browne style...kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries...all layered and interesting integrated . New world style all the way.

A wine of pleasure. I wouldn’t relegate it to guilty pleasure because there is nothing to feel guilty about. It isn’t subtle and doesn’t ask any deep questions. It is easy company though and it tastes good. No complaints.

Fine Wines SG - The World of Pinot Noir: Burgundy vs the World (Fine Wines SG): A big fruit-driven nose of summer berries and citrus, and fernish greens. Intense, tannic, and somewhat warm, while the fruits are tending to sweeter and riper flavours, even caramelised. Can imagine it being a popular choice, but the balance could have been better

A really appealing cold weather pinot, short on subtlety but long on flavor. Cola, cherries, a little heat (but not overwhelming). Two bottles left and I am thinking one in January and one in February is a good plan.

Pw/1 hr. decant, slightly chilled. Clear w/tiny amount of very fine sediment. Med purple/ruby color. Usual CA Pinot nose and taste. Good, everyday pour. Med body/flavor intensity/finish. More black than red fruit. Good drinking window. Nothing off. $39

I bought a few bottles at a wine dinner a few years ago, because, well, wine dinner. Hadn't opened any until tonight, and it is drinking much better than I remember it being at the time of the wine dinner. Spicy cherry and cola, with an emphasis on the spice. Given it to do over again, I would more eagerly buy the same number of bottles I bought at the time of the wine dinner. I don't think this is going anyplace better with more time, and it doesn't need to. Will look for opportunities to consume before the end of the year.

PnP, room temp, not decanted. A real nice Pinot typical of Sonoma geography. Med body, classic taste profile, med finish. Nice balance and integration. Nothing off. Great value, $39.

Light plum color with a very fragrant bouquet of rose and strawberry. Very light and nuanced on the palate with notes of spice, black cherry, and cedar. Warm, medium finish that would lead you to drink this too quickly but don't. Sip and savor. Drink now through 2018.

Quite dark and moody for a Pinot. Burnt caramel, dark chocolate cherry. A little overtly rich, heavy and sweet for me - not what I'm looking for in a Pinot. A bit much. 14.5%, $48.

Spice and ripe red fruit, structure on the mid palate, long finish. That's a pretty darn chiseled wine. Holds itself nicely. Youthful now, give it just a year.

Nose of medium intensity, cherry, light spice. Palate shows nicely, red cherry, raspberry, sweet cola, vanilla, acidity is medium plus which is nice. Not terribly complex but good wine.

Ruby color with lighter rim. Nose: dried cherry, whortleberry, and black raspberry with accents of mulling spices, sandalwood, sumac, toasted pine, tobacco, and forest floor. Medium body on the palate: dried cherry/cranberry, black raspberry, and blueberry framed by mulling spices, dates, tobacco, pink peppercorn, and toasted hazelnut. Medium+ acidity. Moderate/lighter tannins. Lingering dried cherry/cranberry skin, mulling spices, toasted hazelnut, and tobacco on the moderate/long finish. Expressive fruit and richly flavored oak/spice/earth tones. Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Hartford Tasting with Don Hartford (Bin 75): Like the 2012 Chardonnay I found this to be a little young and not as expressive as you'd like. The fresh sour cherry and restrained ripeness was appealing but the alcohol stood out a bit on this bottle. Would like to re-taste in a year.

Excellent right out of bottle. All really liked it and commented a lot. Ready to drink but I still think will benefit from decanting.

Dried cherry, black raspberry, and a hint of cranberry. Densely concentrated, yet light on mid palette. Finishes dry with earthy tones and spice.

Accessed with Coravin so still 1/3 of bottle left. Had not had time to rest yet.
Was excellent I thought. Stayed good throughout bottle for 3+ days.
