20 minutes in the decanter and it definitely needed more time. Really intriguing nose of sweet cranberry and other red fruits. This is a big wine! Intense tannins that coat your teeth, which I really like. Rose, cherry, spice and minerals. Good mouthfeel and long finish. If I had another bottle I would wait 3 or 4 years to open it or give it a very long decant. Probably just getting close to its prime drinking window.

Lovely nose of ripenomg dark berries. Elegant and loght albeit quite expressive. Some slight sweet spice, mont, vanilla and pepper. Medium body, fruits. Not much secondary, classic, barolo notes, but delicate wine.

Really impressed with this wine. Earthy black cherries and anise, loamy earth bordering on tar before the finish brings tar, tobacco, and leather with undertones of black tea and anise for good measure. Tannins are getting close to integration, the astringency is more bittersweet chocolate than wood, and I would say about 60 / 40 with the acid right now. Alcohol (14%) and oak are both in line. Style & Quality: A- (92). Will hopefully continue to develop more complexity for that higher rating, definitely has the potential. At $61 / bottle (JJB), I very much hope that it does; Value: B (86). Overall Evaluation: A- (90).

Deep crimson; tasting blind this was distinctly young Italian with lots of roses red cherries and cedar; the palate was initially soft and a bit hollow with intrusively creamy oak along with chocolate and dill, after a while the wine came together showing classically hard Monforte fruit, pure red cherry, the mid filled in and the oak integrated a bit though it shows wood tannin; should be beautiful with time.

Clearly quite early to try this, though it's a pleasant barolo with clear new world intentions. Fruit is big, tannin is quite soft for a SVD Barolo/nebbiolo and some classic barolo notes emerge with considerable air. Will likely be better in a few years though will be inhibited from the oak treatment.

Tasted @ big Italy tasting next to the 2010 Sori Ginestra. It's slightly more "feminine" in style. Perfumed nose of plums, sweet spices, licorice, mint and flowers. It's full-bodied with medium-high acidity and medium-high tannin that is ripe but present. Great finish. A great Barolo with amazing aromatics.

Definately better on day 2. Pure and fresh, but just entered it’s drinking window. Will retaste over the next years.
