Flavors of melted black licorice, fig paste, blackberry, Kirsch, vanilla and shisha that evolve to bring in notes of baking spice, slate and mocha that linger through the finish.

70% Old vine Carinena, 15% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in new French oak for 14 months. Deep dark ruby. w/ intense black fruit, blue fruit, dried fruit grilled herbs, black licorice, mocha and baking spices. Dry, w/ med acid, med+, polished tannins and high alcohol. Full-bodied, with med+ to intense flavors, consistent with the nose and a nice long finish. Drinking great at 15 years, with several years of aging potential left.

Great flavor and body, unfortunately cork had to be broken out and needed to strain wine, lots of sediment so to pay this much and have these problems was disappointing.

70% Old vine Carinena, 15% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in new French oak for 14 months. *Decanted 3+ hours Once in the glass, slightly hazy and showing sediment, dark red in color shows high concentration along with high viscosity leaving thick legs falling slowly down after the swirl. On the nose aromatically intense even before air time. Aromas are rich, dense and dripping with vanilla, blue and blackberry pastilles, fig jam, dried fruit of figs and cherries, herbs, black licorice, brandy, chai spice, moist golden tobacco and slate notes. On the full bodied palate flavors are just as intense with a level of complexity that is the signature of top level Priorats and of Vall Llach. Beautiful flavors of dried cherry, leather, fig, dates, tobacco, cognac, spice, black licorice, vanilla bean, sweet caramelized oak and a pure note of minerality on the back end that glides effortlessly through the long complex finish. The plush, velvety tannins linger with the dried fruit, tobacco and mineral flavors. Overall amazingly well put together, drinking great and just starting to peek its head into its prime.
