A bottle I kind of forgot about a little, last bottle. In a beautiful place, showing no signs of decline yet, lighter-medium golden color, pretty high viscosity. Notes of ripe citrus and some pear, red apple, sweet spices, also a touch of smokey minerality, some seashell, also some honey and with more air some tertiary notes. It‘s medium-full bodied, has medium-high acidity, a touch of phenolic bitterness, there is a touch of warmth too, but overall very balanced and really nice. Good length with that Puligny kind of cut, even in this year with some extra ripeness. Not the last word about complexity, but a beautifully aged Puligny 1er Cru from this excellent producer. The numerical score is probably not doing this justice.

(Half-blind tasting) Medium-fullish nose with some development. Yellow apple, modelling clay, gently vanilla oak, elegant minerality and hints of honey. Medium-fullish, developed palate. Balanced and elegant. Very good intensity with a nice toasty, nutty edge. Elegant fruit and clear 1er Cru-level. Very Burgy.

La Grand Rue Dinner (Iggy's, Hilton Hotel, Singapore): I liked this, maybe not quite as much as a 2012 Leflaive Pucelles we had alongside, but it was very commendable indeed. The nose on this was more subtle, with tighter notes of white fruit, mineral and a hint of exotic spice at the edges. Quite attractive though. The palate had a very nice shape to it, with a rich snap of red apples and a hint of berry fruit on the attack leading into a powerful, spice infused midpalate. There was a nice decent sense of cut and definition to this, with a good seam of bright acidity and minerality tracing its way into a decent finish. Neither as deep or generous as the Leflaive, and it lacked a bit of the elegant presence of the other wine, but this was quite nice indeed.

Bad weather conditions have challenged the burgundy winegrowers in 2012. Although this Puligny by Domaine Marc Morey may lack some finesse, they did a good job: intense and rich Nose with ripe pear, rubber, vanilla, grapes, roasted pine nuts and cooking banana. Continuing very aromatic in the mouth with aromas like apple peel, grapefruit, roasted almonds and hints of tea. At 6 years of age, this premier cru is in a great spot. BoW 17.5/20

This is a sleeper and obviously needs time to integrate and open up. But has the stuffing of a great wine! After about two hours it started to performe in the glass, a more sleek and elegant style, all the fruit is there. A well balanced, acidic, oaky, mineralic wine...everything is there, just not all togehter in harmony yet. Wait 5 years, will earn 1-2 points!

Perfect bottle. Young, slightly yellow with a hint of green. A bit green on the nose. Chardonnay fruit, oak, mineral like crushed sea shells. Yellow fruit, white flowers. Good mouthfill. Great acidity, good texture, must be stalks and stems here, ok balance, long finish. Good effort but not as good as their vintages 2009 and 2010.

A lovely wine. Decanted for 2 hours. Still a bit heavy on the oak at this stage. Try again in 24 months.
