Pale straw color; herbaceous, lemon lime, touch of cat pee on the nose; a little tangy, orange blossom pithiness, med+ acidity, med finish with some brioche; drinking better than expected given it's a few years old

Very transparent white – with just a hint of pale yellow straw color. Notes of grapefruit, pineapple, and honeysuckle, as well as a hint of mineral. Crisp but not biting on the palate, with a simple smooth finish.
This is one of my favorite Sauvignons - good price to value.

Refreshing on a hot summer day, realatively smooth citris without the grapefruit you get from Sauv Blanc's. Enjoyable but not enough substance to warrant the price.

Typical of Napa Valley SB, this holds back, with none of the Tomcat you get from New Zealand examples. Nose of limes, lime blossom, melon, and white grapefruit. Lemony and elegant in the mouth, it's lush in texture and moderate in length.

A solid offering although definitely not worth the $$. More in line with a $15-$18 offering. Strong sense of citrus (grapefruit) with strong acidity. Went nice with baked chicken.

Tasted at Duckhorn Vineyards. Very pale yellow-green color with a fragrant nose of grapefruit, jasmin, and citrus zest. The palate is lively with bright acidity with a crisp texture. Flavors of watermelon, grapefruit, orange zest and freshly-cut cedar. Complex, layered and flinty. Finishes long with hints of limestone slate. Drink now until 2023.

This wine has been one of my favorite Sauvignon Blancs for many years. But in my opinion the quality has been going down for a while now. Unfortunately the sparkle, the crispness and all the other "unique" stuff which set Duckhorn aside from other Sauvignon Blancs in now gone. It could easily pass for a $15.00 (or less) bottle of wine. Definitely not as good as previous vintages. Disappointed. And I bought the whole case. :-(

Very pleasant. While I generally like the slight hint of apple and solid dose of grass on the nose and palette it is tough to find in a CA Sauvignon Blanc. The apple is missing here and is replaced by a nice soft citrus with a little melon to balance. Grass is present but mild. Very smooth as Duckhorn's typically are. Perfect with a salad or with a seafood appetizer. Also can stand alone on a nice sunny afternoon.

Duckhorn tasting at Grand Union Wine Society. Decent nose and surprisingly big, ripe, complex, and sweet on the palate. A massive contrast to European Sauvignon Blanc and even richer and fruitier than most New Zealand SB (and I'm not a great fan of most of the latter). Complex, oily, exotic tropical fruit (oranges, peaches, and pineapple) with just a touch of citrus (sweet grapefruit). The 16% of semillon is perhaps significant but this is not my idea of SB. I know some can find Bordeaux SB(/semillon)s a bit tart but they make much better food wines and this wine has little 'crispness' - the balancing acidity seems to get lost in the ripeness. Long, with a residue of grapefruit pith. A very nice wine as an aperitif but rather expensive for me in UK (ca. £24). Later note: Next day, the remains of a bottle were drunk with cold poached salmon and Hollandaise sauce. Magic! The food brought out the orange, spice and toffee and the wine was an excellent match. The acidity issue didn't arise. I'm always happy to reassess - food always makes a difference and assessing wine without it is a risky business...... It is also good to give some wines a day after opening. I have no hesitation in raising my score. A real learning experience.

I always love this crisp Sauv Blanc with moderate fruit. Very drinkable. Duckhorn makes it nicely, not as dry as the French. This isn't the best vintage I've had from them, but never bad.

I had this at the Duckhorn webcast tasting with Total Wine on November 8, 2014. A little richer than other colder weather sauvignon blancs. Was much nicer than I was expecting.

duckhorn (at the estate): very soft, fat, tropical fruit with low acidity. why on earth would you buy this at around 30 US dollars when there is new zeeland entry level Sauvignon Blanc for half the price and thrice the quality?

Grass and herb. Fairly balanced, but maybe a bit flabby for a Sauvignon Blanc. Drinkable, but not the best from Duckhorn and not a good QPR.

Decent enough SB, a little overpriced. Getting stainless and grapefruit on the palate, with medium acidity. Good by itself, or with seafood.
