Typical Rhone grenache, with sweet flowers, red berries, vanilla and butter. Creamy texture and soft tanins. Solid and pleasant finish. Not that complex. 90

By the glass at Le Beaulieu, Bangkok. A touch light, but this was a simple and pleasurable wine. The nose was attractive, with notes of sweet cherries and strawberries matched with garrigue, dried flowers and a whiff of hot stones - very true to place I thought. The palate had a nice fresh, lively feel to it, with bright acidity and fine tannins framing light flavours of dark cherries and sweet red berries draped with just the slightest lace of minerality. It lacked depth and any semblance of length on the finish, but it was nevertheless a pleasant wine that was nicely balanced and acted as a nice foil to our duck and chicken dishes.

Black pepper and raspberry, long finish, and food friendly, it fits that need for an inexpensive weeknight red with an incredible PVR at $10. Went out and bought more.

Friday Walk Around Tasting at Sam's Fine Wine & Spirits, Lexington, SC 10/24/2014 (Sam's Fine Wines & Spirits, Lexington, SC): This is a pretty typical Cote du Rhone blend at this price point. The fruit has a ripe, almost sunburned taste. As in past vintages, this is not an overly fruity wine. It has all the characteristics of a complete taste profile, if not necessarily concentrated and layered. The color is dark red, not quite purple. The nose has lanolin and vanilla with red raspberry and a ever so small hint of violets. The fruit is a little spicy with red and black berries mixed in with sappy type of flavors. Superb balance and nice tannins. Clean, moderate blackberry finish.

Served too warm (a common restaurant fault), it was nevertheless an enjoyably fruity (raspberry and dark fruit), peppery and robust CdR with a rather alcoholic finish (aggravated by the warmth). A good pairing for elk stew.

Forrest fruits in the nose. In the mouth raspberries, strawberries and lots of licorice - together with very strong tannins. Typical CDR; lacks some character.

Pleasant rhone, easy, fruity, hint of spice. No tannins.
Not great, but good enough.

Completely agree with Mike Kopanski (from 10/24/2014).
Typical spicy and sunburnt CdR, rather short finish than expected. Good value at 8€!
