I don’t think it is has moved at all in the eight years since my last bottle — just as lovely as I remembered it being. Lovely balance of development, residual fruit and a silky texture. Really lovely. ****

JadotFest 2013 (Harwood Arms, London): Nicely fragrant nose. Red fruit and a little sous bois with a touch of woodsmoke. Quite minerally through the mid-palate. Nicely defined. Long. Opens up and shows a nice texture around the minerally core. Good focus and line. ***1/2 maybe even ****

Best (and last) of the lot. Very light body and crystal clear. Nothing on the nose for about 30 minutes and then the fruit and perfume begins. Nose developed throughout the next three hours until it was really quite substantial and complex. In the mouth, bright cherry and some strawb. to begin but once it opened out the savoury, meatier flavours came to the fore. A light wine but one with much pleasure in its development.

First bottel corked, but replacement lovely. Bright red fruit, nicely mineral. Consistent with previous bottle in April, possibly improving slightly. Top ***

First bt (Feb 2011) lovely, Good presence without much weight. clear rim, slightly tawny colour. Perfumed nose, rounded mouth with cherries coming through at the end. Second bt (May 2011) had a hard time up against pear, blue cheese and walnut salad. it won through but came across much lighter, more zingy than before. Still a good nose, promising depth but its lack of weight made it feel ore insubstantial. Partnered well

Mid ruby. Red fruited nose, a touch of something mode minerally. Similar on palate, quite light, a brightness to the red fruit, some acidity and fine tannin on the slghtly gravelly finish. Decent and typical. ***

Beautiful nose. Beautifully refreshing, light on its feet with pure cherry fruit, fine acidity, and a hint of the rustic in the long finish. No longer young but less than mature. A classic Savigny, in its prime, and excellent value. dg-

Dark, but clear and bright. Luscious perfume on the nose - ripe fruits and classic red burgundy. Nice attack, and great fruit across the palate. A bit of zip, and still some grainy tannin around the edges. Super length. Great terrior and vintage characteristics, and excellent wine.

Jadotfest 23 - Table Domaine Gagey (Noizé): Garnet colour, a hint of bricking. Somewhat floral nose - parma violets. Savoury with a nice acid backbone. Good stuff.

Nice maturimg wine, earthy pinot nose and flavoir of cherries, earth and just a hint of root veg, suggesting age. Quality wine.
