Drinking this after a Burgundy dinner, and it's showing a bit simple but I suppose enjoyable enough for a <$20 Burg. Transparent crimson in color. Aromas of funk, animale, soil, cherry, some root vegetables like radish, and green pepper. Light body, bright acidity, medium finish, and flavors of tart cherry, lemon, orange, and mineral.

One glass Venturi....one glass straight pour....little discernible difference...slight aroma edge to Venturi...thin rose colored wine... Light bodied...nose has some earth/cave notes...light strawberry... Light floral....taste is bright acidic...tart strawberry....somewhat of a decent length finish....overall okay wine....not impressive whatsoever...light easy drinker you won't remember...

The tartness of this wine took me a few sips to get used to but it is a classic burgundy. Strawberry, hints of raspberry, and an earthy minerality that is quite nice. Air has helped - decanted for four hours at this point.

Very pale. Light red fruit and earth. Light weight, briary, no sweetness or fat, lots of soil on the finish. This belies the producer's Savigny roots. No flaws but nothing in particular to commend it either.

A bit on the sour side, as I've been finding with other '12 Bourgogne's. However, definitely has a very nice earthy, red fruit aroma. The taste is fresh and fruity, despite the aforementioned drawback which may be alleviated with time. On the pricier side for a Bourgogne, but definitely the best 2012 Bourgogne I've yet had.

PnPed. Right out of the gate, classic and soaring Pinot nose: primary fruit with sweet strawberry, crunchy raspberry, crunchy citrus zest, some red spices - cinnamon, some minerality and stones. The fruit is both a clear and crystalline and at the same time somewhat wild and brambly. A touch of heat behind the nose but still, I have to say I was taken aback by how delicious a nose this entry-level wine had. The palate is much more wound, but there seems to be excellent potential. Crunchy primary fruit - less sweet, more wound and burly. There is some tart strawberry, cherry and a bit of cranberry, some spice, serious acid showing partially as orangey zest, some minerals and stones, a bit of florals. There is lots of stemmy, green (not bad) structure and moderately chewy tannins. This is a little darker on the palate than the nose. As the finish approaches, the wine dries out significantly and becomes pretty austere and somewhat bony - with dry tannins and high acid. Tart cherry and berry, stones and a bit of florals. If this softens up in a few years to follow the nose, it will be really tasty. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 4.5+/6, Finish - 4+/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 14.5+-15+/20 (with 15.5-16/20 potential).

PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs and Day 2 -semi-translucent bright lively red -very aromatic spicy red fruits, dusty earth -med+ acidity, lighter weight, crunchy/tart but ripe red fruits, somewhat bitter med tannins, fleshes out more on Day 2 with softer mouthfeel -great bargain on the nose alone, not complex or profound but pleasing and correct, this should improve over several years

Light hue red with minimal translucency. The first few notes out of the glass on the nose were surprisingly good for a Bourgogne. This is pure pinot from Burgundy. Very nice acidity on the palate. Tart cherry and stewed tomato with some piney forest floor. I am thrilled with this for $24 from Burgundy. One of the better Bourgognes from what is available to me. I love this guy's wines.
My second taste was not as impressive as the first. This bottle was more at the level expected for an inexpensive Bourgogne. Still good and enjoyable but not punching above its weight. The style is my preferred with a light extraction and a pure and earthyl style. Good QPR.

Eye: Dark cranberry to a pinkish rim Nose: Strawberry and earth palate: Mostly an earthy funk with medium acidity and some noticeable tannin and a short finish.
Overall this burgundy was enjoyable but a bit tight. Could use some decanting (3+hrs) or another year or 2 to loosen up.

PnP. Lots of herbal, white pepper and clove characteristics on the nose and palate, together with very tart cherry and cherry pit. I would have guessed that the herbal/clove character came from stems. However, the bourgogne is apparently 100% destemmed. A distinctive and finessed wine.

Impressive for its level with nice weight and texture. The nose was pure Burgundy with forest floor and spice. I'd make this my house wine if I could. Lovely Burgundy.
