Quite an intense nose with clear sous-bois, ripe deep red cherries with a backdrop of light clove. Palate is ripe and round and fully mature - very light tannins and mild acidity. Some gentle wild strawberry and light herb notes. Fine persistence. This wine is fine but fully mature. Drink now.

Light paling on the rim; showing a little age. A ripe cherry nose, slight truffle - perhaps a little alcohol warmth. Palate has soft red fruits with good balance, light tannins & medium acid. Quite soft on the palate and feels fairly mature. Slight warmth on aftertaste. Good. Drink in next year or two.

Craggy Range Tasting (United Cellars, 100 William Street, Sydney): Medium plus intensity aromas of red cherry and herbaceous notes clay , slight spice an slight ash. In the mouth the wine is juicy with red cherry and berry fruit, very slight herbaceousness notes with some ash. Again quite warm on the back palate with fine sly tannins. Still a little closed in the mouth for me, not giving all it can I suspect. Medium plus length. Hmm.

New Zealand London Annual Trade Tasting (Lindley Hall, Royal Horticultural Halls): Clear cherry red color. The nose is clean, med intensity, red cherry and currant, a bit of spice in the back, nice depth and structure, sweet notes too, vanilla and almost candied cherry. The wine is dry, med body and intensity, a touch of alcohol, nice acidity, fresh feeling, juicy tannins, a basket of ripe fruits, a spicy oak hint, balanced, structured, nice sweet fruit in the med+ finish. Very good quality, 89+ for now
